Professional, amazing guide, excellent camps, comfortable new vehicle. What more could you ask for?
We had a wonderful experience on safari with get together. They were very professional and easy to work with during the planning stage. We had a brand new safari vehicle which was incredibly comfortable. It had fewer than 5k km on it. We were told that they only use brand new safari vehicles and sell them to other tour companies when they get older, which is very nice. The camps they arranged for us in the Serengeti were amazing. Very comfortable, incredible food, great service. We did have one issue during our safari, but their prompt and professional response very much impressed us.
But above all our guide, Makundi, was amazing. The guide can really make or break your safari and Makundi is a uniquely wonderful guide. He is experienced, kind and thoughtful. Most of all he is incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife - he truly has a passion for the animals and ecology and loves to share that with you. While guides from other companies might be friendly and helpful, I doubt you will find a better guide than Makundi at teaching you about the wildlife.

He had an amazing eye for spotting animals that we would have completely missed on our own.

Get Together Adventures helped make our honeymoon truly unforgettable. From the very beginning, Yese was responsive, well informed, patient, and incredibly accommodating. We worked closely together to design a trip that would give us the best possible opportunity to witness the Great Migration while also allowing us to experience other remarkable parts of Tanzania, including Ngorongoro Crater, the central Serengeti, and the northern Serengeti.
Yese listened carefully to what was important to us and helped create an itinerary that felt personal rather than generic. We never felt as though we were simply being placed into a standard safari package. Every question was answered thoughtfully, and changes were handled with patience and professionalism.
The preparation materials were also excellent. The packing list was extremely informative and detailed, and we followed it almost exactly as written. By the time we arrived, we felt properly prepared for the changing temperatures, long game drives, dust, luggage limitations, photography, and other realities of safari travel. That preparation contributed greatly to the success and comfort of our trip.
Get Together Adventures also paid attention to the smaller details that made the experience feel especially thoughtful and personalized. I emailed Yese before the trip to ask about sandbags for photography, and two were waiting for us in the vehicle. The company also personalized our tour vehicle with a tire cover wishing us a happy honeymoon, which was such a sweet and memorable touch.
The vehicle itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Refrigerated water and soft drinks were readily available throughout the day, which was especially appreciated during long game drives. There were ample charging ports for our phones, cameras, and other devices, so we never had to worry about running out of power while photographing wildlife. Get Together Adventures also provided a WI-FI card for the vehicle. That ended up being far more important than we ever anticipated because it allowed my husband to stay connected and successfully accept a new job offer while we were on safari.
Our guide, Mr. Makundi, was exceptional.
Most importantly, we always felt safe with him. Some of the roads were extremely rough, muddy, or difficult to navigate, but his driving skills were genuinely impressive. At one point, we watched him stop and get out of the vehicle to carefully assess a very deep puddle before deciding how to proceed. He then maneuvered through it skillfully and calmly. His experience and judgment were evident throughout the trip.
On the drive from Ngorongoro Crater toward the northern Serengeti, we experienced a flat tire. Mr. Makundi handled the situation efficiently and had us back on the road in approximately 25 minutes. Even during an unexpected interruption, he remained calm, capable, and focused on minimizing the impact on our day.
We also deeply respected his integrity. We witnessed vehicles from other safari companies leave the designated roads in order to get closer to wildlife. Mr. Makundi never compromised his standards or the safety of the animals for a sighting or photograph. He understood that protecting the environment and respecting the wildlife were more important than getting a few feet closer. That meant a great deal to us and reinforced that we had chosen the right company and guide.
Every evening, Mr. Makundi would explain his proposed plan for the following day and ask for our input. He regularly invited feedback and made adjustments based on our interests. The experience never felt like we were simply being driven through a predetermined itinerary. It felt like a genuine collaboration. We always knew what he was hoping to accomplish, and we felt included in the decision making throughout the trip.
We also had dinner with Mr. Makundi every evening, which gave us an opportunity to talk about the day, ask questions, and get to know him beyond the game drives. Those dinners added a personal dimension to the experience and made the trip feel even more connected and memorable.
His knowledge of the animals, their behavior, and the landscape was extraordinary. He could identify animals and birds from remarkable distances, often before we had any idea they were there. He consistently positioned the vehicle thoughtfully so that we had excellent views without disturbing the wildlife. As someone who became deeply invested in photography during the trip, I especially appreciated his ability to anticipate movement, consider the lighting and angle, and place us in an excellent position to capture the moment.
What stood out just as much as his skill was the care he showed us personally. When I became ill during the trip, Mr. Makundi checked on me throughout the evening and continued checking on me for several days afterward. That made me feel genuinely cared for and reminded me that, to him, we were not simply clients passing through.
We could tell that the quality of our experience genuinely mattered to both Mr. Makundi and Get Together Adventures. This was not simply transportation between lodges and parks. It was a carefully planned, highly personalized journey led by people who wanted our honeymoon to be successful.
We returned home with incredible memories, thousands of photographs, and a much deeper appreciation for Tanzania and its wildlife. We are extremely grateful to Yese, Mr. Makundi, and the entire Get Together Adventures team, and we would confidently recommend them to anyone planning a safari.

Joseph was very knowledgeable and had a great eye!
GetTogetherAdventures and, especially, our guide Joseph, made this trip an amazing family adventure! I was shocked at how many wild animals we were able to see up close in less in just a few days. Joseph was able to spot and point out every species we had hoped to see on this trip, and answered all of our questions about the wild life and culture of Tanzania. There were one or two questions (out of many) that he didn’t know on the spot, and he took the time to find the answer that day. Joseph was also a very skilled driver and adjusted the itinerary to our preferences throughout the trip. We would love to come back some day!

An Unforgettable 5-Star Family Adventure
We had a really great experience with Get Together Adventures. They helped us plan a custom trip months in advance and were always helpful and easy to communicate with.
Things didn’t exactly start according to plan, as we missed our connecting flight in Frankfurt on the way to Zanzibar. But the team was fantastic and helped rearrange everything so that it had almost no impact on our trip. We really appreciated how flexible and helpful everyone was.
Both of our guides were great — very knowledgeable, friendly and kind, and also really good with my kids. We stayed in a mix of tents and lodges and saw an incredible amount of wildlife, including the Big Five, the Ugly Five, and much more. The Serengeti was definitely one of the highlights.
After the safari we spent a couple of days relaxing at a nice resort in Zanzibar, which was a great way to end the trip.
Overall, a real 5-star experience for us. Great people, great guides and a trip we’ll remember for a long time. Definitely a company I would recommend and use again.

great value, private experience, great driver
Get together made the safari so easy. once it was booked we didn’t have to do anything else. our driver met us right at the airport and was with us the entire time. our driver was joseph . he was kind, knew exactly what to do, and handled all check ins. all we had to do was show up. joseph was excited to make tiktoks when we asked and was very pleasant to be around.

Best Experience of my life
We had the BEST safari experience this company and our guide Joseph! He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, patient, and went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. He took the time to understand our personalities and our interests in the animals, and he was so patient with us as we took endless pictures and videos.
