The best value for money safari in Botswana
5/5

Lucky and his team gave us an amazing experience, from the booking of the Moremi Safari until the end. They were professional (arrived on time, clear explanations), friendly, very knowledgable about wildlife and trying their best for us to see a wide variety of animals, always solution oriented and hard-workers (we left at 4:30 in the morning and came back at 7pm!). I highly recommend organizing a tour with Lucky for anybody who is looking for an amazing and authentic adventure.
Also the next day we decided to choose his service again to visit the Delta Okavango during sunset and have a very interesting visit in a small typical village near Maun. My only regret is to not have chosen to sleep in the Delta as we didn't have enough time;

It ended in a court case

I had a few days of meetings in Botswana and booked two Safaris with Lucky, one before the meetings and one after. In the first Safari (4 days) everything was ok. Moremi of course is a wonderfull place. The guide and the chef did a great job - all of them are freelancer. After the second safari (see further down), I am not sure they will work with Lucky again.
A much worse experience was the second safari (it should have been 7 days CKGR and Nxai Pans). Lucky didn‘t do any advance preparation for the trip like buying food or booking accomadation in the parks. When the safari started he was not in Maun, but in Gabarone, an unexpected meeting he said.
He sent the guide to pick me up, but didn‘t provide him with money for food, disel or accomodation. With the help of a friend of Lucky we could buy the most necessary things. Even I cashed in some money I had on me. Lucky said he would join us after two days and bring the required supplies. He didn‘t. He only showed up after three days, probably when he realized, that our situation wasn‘t too good: we were in CKGR, no food left and not sure we had enough disel to make it back to the gate, where we could have a phone call for support.
So he briefly came to our camp with more supplies, appologized, said from now on everything would work fine. It didn‘t. When we went over to Nxai Pans we realized: he did not pay park entrance nor accomadation for us - eventhough before hand he had repeatedly confirm that he did...
Before more people had to cash in money for something Luckey had been paid for by me in advance we headed back to Maun, two days early. Back in Maun we waited on Lucky. And he kept on with the scheme of telling that he would be there and then not showing up. He finally showed up when I set an ultimatum and threatened with the police. We then agreed on the money he had to refund me for the two days of safari that didn’t happen and I also set the condition that he would pay the guide and chef for their work in order for me to consider the thing to be ok. He than set off, saying he would go to the bank to get the money - only to hide somewhere and play on time until I had my flight back home.
Until now, he did not pay the refund to me nor did he pay the money he owns the guide and the chef for their work. And I must say both of them did a great job, doing their best for me to have at least some safari!
Given the fact that Lucky owes money to all of us, the guide went to court with the case. We are waiting.
After this I wouldn’t trust Lucky. He studied communication and he is good at telling stories. I assume he run into financial problems. This should not happen, he should not have used the money I paid to him for something else than my safari. But even if so, once it happened, he should not tell stories as he did. Very disappointing.
If you still book with Lucky, do not pay more than 1/3 of the money in advance, like this you make sure there’s money left for your trip.

A great experience!

My friend and I used Kalahari Marsh Safari services for a Mokoro day-trip in Botswana.
Lucky, the operator (but really much more than that), was extremely accommodating and thoughtful throughout my communication with him while still in my home country.
The evening prior to our scheduled trip he came to visit us at the lodge we stayed in. The nicest guy you'll meet! He informed us about the details of his suggested trip and wanted to know our thoughts, specific interests and requirements, food/drink preferences, etc. I was highly impressed of how thoughtful he was of every small detail (!), and that he really wanted to tailor the trip for us and to our complete satisfaction.
The following morning he showed up with his team to pick us up to the Mokoro station. During the drive, Lucky and I discussed everything from the planned trip, to culture, politics, religion, race, nature, etc. I really treasure these conversations, from which I learned a lot.
At the Mokoro station, Lucky informed our poler about our interests and wishes, and then waited at the station for our return. Indeed, the poler was great! very pleasant, knowledgeable and informative. He really took Lucky's notes to heart and fulfilled our hopes and expectations.
I'll definitely recommend Lucky's services to anyone who's interested in a Safari. I doubt that you can find a more thoughtful and friendly service that is really tailored for you.

A reactive and efficient team and a quasi tailor made safari at a correct price for the country
5/5

Kalahari Marsh is a young and small company and the head, Lucky, is collaborating with many local partners which is good for the development of the region. He is very reactive and always try to find a solution to adapt to external circumstances or specific requirements (in my case I had several constraints regarding the schedule). He is very nice and kind, reliable and always trying to fullfil clients needs even if it is a last minut request. During 3 days I joined a small group with a guide he is collaborating with. This guide named OK, from the region, was extremely knowledgeable, sharing a lot of information on many topics and trying it's best to meet client expectations. The "chef" was a young guide, very good cook , preparing amazing meals in the middle of the bush. The logistic of this short safari was very good. But if you go there try to avoid Air Botswana.... they are not reliable. Because of them I missed my return flight and had to by a new ticket (and they don not care). Several passengers told me that this is usual situation with Air Botswana.

An Excellent Experience All Round
5/5

I did a Mokoro ride and bush walk in the Okavango Delta and it was a great experience. Lucky was very helpful throughout the booking process and the trip was very well organised. The Mokoro ride was interesting and relaxing and the bush walk was a good experience also. It was great to spend the day with the guys also - very nice guys and great to chat with.

LT our guide, Sarah our chef and Lucky created a trip of a lifetime for my son and I. With an affordable price and the flexibility to do what we wanted. LT is a veteran guide and knows where to go and how to find the animals. Sarah created the most delicious meals. We camped the whole time in tents. The three of them created a lovely camp each night for us. If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure full of wildlife, caring people and a true Africa experience, then connect up with Kalahari Marsh Safari Holidays.

Most knowledgeable & incredibly friendly tour operator
5/5

If you want to have a very knowledgeable guide, who has eyes like an eagle to spot animals, knows what he is talking about and tries his very best to make you feel comfortable & taken cared of then don't look further. Lucky, owner of Kalahari Marsh Safari, is your man! I couldn't believe it, how easy it was to book veery spontaneously a tour with him and just how nice he was from the beginning til the end. He even waited for me to get in the bus (until 11pm, the bus was 2 hours late!) and made sure I was safely in the bus :)
I'm already planning to come back to Botswana, but this time I'll book a multi-day Camping trip to really get the Safari feeling as well as learn as much as possible from Lucky.
If I could, he'd get 10 stars..not gonna lie. A tour I will never forget, also maybe because a lion came to my side of the car and looked straight into my eyes hehe. So awesome! Thank you Lucky, I'll be back!
