Muhwezi was a fantastic tour guide very attentive and energetic
5/5

Our trip through Rwanda and Uganda was truly unforgettable, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible guide. From gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, and golden monkey trekking to unforgettable safari experiences, every day was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations.

Every lodge we stayed at was warm, welcoming, and provided outstanding service, making us feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the journey.

What really made this trip special was our guide, Muhwezi Shever. He genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in every detail. He made sure we experienced the local culture, stopping along the way for delicious cappuccinos, introducing us to local spots, and sharing his knowledge and passion for the region. He was professional, attentive, and always focused on making sure we had the best possible experience.

If you're considering an African adventure, I can't recommend this tour and guide highly enough. It was the trip of a lifetime, and we left with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the beauty, wildlife, and people of Rwanda and Uganda.

Bucket list experience!
5/5

Where to begin?! Hands down this was one of the most incredible tours I’ve done - everything was included and taken care of for you (lodge, food, permits, transportation & water) we started in Kigali and had pick up from our hotel - went to the genocide memorial, then off to volcanoes national park to see the golden monkeys. Next you head to Uganda to bwindi to trek with the gorillas after to lake Buyonyi to relax (which is needed after trekking) then off to queens Elizabeth national park for a boat cruise and evening game drive. We saw elephants, hippos, lions and even spotted the leopard! You finish off with a morning game drive then off to Kibale to see the chimps! The last day is a long trek from Uganda to Rwanda, but the previous days and excursions all make it worth it! Muhwezi was our guide and he was incredible from taking amazing photos of us, making sure we always had water, making our stops for cappuccinos along the drive and bathroom breaks! Request him you won’t be sorry.

A seamless, joyful adventure to Bwindi with an exceptional guide
5/5

We had the most wonderful and exciting time in Bwindi with our tour guide Muhwezi Shever. He picked us up in Musanze, Rwanda, drove us across the border to Uganda and up to Ruhija in Bwindi National Park, stayed with us throughout, and brought us safely home three days later.
Shever’s knowledge of the area — from the scenic road to Ruhija to the forest of Bwindi itself — truly brought the experience to life. His passion for bird life and nature was infectious, and thanks to him we spotted and identified species we would never have noticed on our own.
But beyond his expertise, Shever was simply a joy to be with. His easy-going warmth and good humor made every moment feel relaxed and fun — he was the kind of guide who turns a journey into something you find yourself laughing about long after you’re home. He handled all arrangements effortlessly, and whenever questions or misunderstandings came up he was always on hand to put our minds at ease.
We should also mention that communication with Jason at Safari Vacations ahead of the trip was smooth and straightforward from the start, making the whole experience stress-free before we’d even left home.
We could not recommend Safari Vacations more highly, and in particular traveling with Shever. He made our time in Bwindi truly memorable.

A knowledgeable, fun guide and at the same time a safe driver.
5/5

Easy to communicate both via WhatsApp and in person. Always accommodating your wishes and give good advice on questions.
Supporting of every query and making sure everyone was having a good time!
The timekeeping was very good both on the longer drives (when crossing the border between Rwanda and Uganda and also for heading out on trekking.
Our great guide was Muhwezi Shever, who also is very good for birding!

Once in a lifetime experience.
5/5

I'm very grateful for our experience with Safari Vacations! We did a 4 day trip that included seeing the Rwandan Genocide Memorial in Kigali, a chimpanzee habituation trek in Kibale National Park, and a Gorilla trek in Bwindi National Park. Leading up to the trip, Jason, the Director, was very communicative and I appreciated his prompt responses to my questions. Darius, our guide and driver, was very kind and was responsible for picking us up from the airport and driving us to our destinations. I expected long travel days, but have to admit the days were longer than expected. I'm glad we went to Kibale but in retrospect I think I would have built in another stop or day to break it up a bit. It ended up being ~7.5H in the car to drive from Kigali to Kibale and then ~6H the following day to drive back down from Kibale to Bwindi. Seeing the chimpanzees was a cool experience, but seeing gorillas in Bwindi was what really made our trip memorable. Bwindi was a beautiful park and it was special getting to spend time with gorillas in their natural habitat.

The lodges we stayed in were definitely rustic but everyone was very kind and the food was good.

The trip was expensive, but I think considering seeing gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat was a once in a lifetime experience it was worth it. I also appreciated that the money for the permits contributes both towards the animals' conservation and towards the local economy. All in all I would recommend Safari Vacations to friends and family!

He is the best tour operator I have ever had!
5/5

Everything went off without a hitch. We got to see gorillas, chimps, lions, elephants, baboons, hippos, water buck, springbok, buffalo, warthogs, crocodiles and more! The places we stayed were perfect and the service was out of this world. The breakfasts, lunches, and dinners all were really delicious. As a professional photographer, I had the opportunity to capture everything I was looking to photograph! Also, our guide Muhwezi Shever got us everywhere we needed to be on time and has a ton of information on anything you think of asking!

Amazing 8 days in Uganda
5/5

Amazing 8 Days in Uganda with Safari Vacation & Travel Services
I had an incredible 8-day journey in Uganda, perfectly organized from start to finish. Jason was always responsive, and even though my flight was delayed by 5 hours, my guide Bosco was waiting for me in Entebbe right on time.
We drove to Kibale for 2 days of chimpanzee trekking, then spent 3 days on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. I added a night safari and GPS tracking of large predators — and it was absolutely worth it. I finally saw three leopards very close, as well as lions.
After that, we visited Bwindi for gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi, and as requested, I was transferred to Rwanda at the end of the trip.
The only small issue was a short car breakdown near the Equator, but it was fixed quickly. Accommodation was a pleasant surprise: although I asked for budget options, every place was comfortable, with good beds, great service, and excellent food.
I chose this company because of their flexibility and good prices when I first contacted them last year while planning Rwanda.(I traveled independently at thet time) I’m very glad I did.
Now I’m already dreaming of returning to Kibale for a longer chimpanzee experience — two days felt too short. The chimpanzees in Uganda are incredible and not afraid of people at all.
Bring rubber boots, sunscreen, and small cash for tips — and enjoy. Uganda is fun and not scary at all!
Highly recommended.

An unforgettable, immersive journey through Uganda
5/5

Our experience with Safari Vacations Tour Agency was super nice from start to finish. This was not just a safari—it was a holistic, deeply immersive journey into Uganda’s landscapes, wildlife, and communities.

The wildlife and scenery were absolutely next level. From dramatic landscapes to jaw-dropping animal encounters, every day delivered moments that felt unreal. Beyond nature, what truly elevated the experience was the human side: everywhere we went, people were genuinely warm, welcoming, and proud to share their country with us. You really feel connected to Uganda, not just passing through it.

A massive highlight was our guide, Smith. His positive energy, deep local knowledge, and passion for Uganda set the tone for the entire trip. He consistently went above and beyond to show us the best of his country and make every moment meaningful. If you’re booking with this agency, I highly recommend asking for Smith—he’s a real asset and makes the experience exceptional.

If there’s one area for improvement, it would be planning a bit more activity density on certain days. We’re very energetic travelers and had a few days with extra free time where we would have happily added more experiences. This is something that could easily be anticipated and fine-tuned before the trip.

Overall, an incredible experience that exceeded expectations. We’re already looking back at photos from the journey and reliving the highlights. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, high-impact way to experience Uganda.
