Good customer service
4/5

First of all, their service is super good. I've exchange many emails with the team and they were always quick to answer and also giving detailed responce. I book a 5 days Kruger Safari. The value was perfect. Not the Big luxurious food/accomodation, but this is what I expected for a 1000$ CAN trip. I got the chance to be in their freshly new rooms at Kruger Adventure Lodge. It was beautiful and well situated in a quiet spot. About the staff, their were nice, I would say that in Canada we always offer better customer service, so if we compare with the African service I got in other place, it was normale.
Except of the first reservation exchange initially, I never spoke or saw anyone from The Mzansi Experience, their are a just the one that sell you the package with transportation (Safarilink) and the lodge package.

Amazing days with a lot of animals
4/5

Everything can be better but in a general view the safaris done were really good. All things depends around the people who do it and we feel some difference between one guide and the other that go with us. Another thing, talking about animals is the lucky that you are, and I thing that we were lucky. Thanks a lot for your work and we wish with repeating with you.

Remarkable experience
4/5

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our 3-night Tented Safari very much. The Lodge facility was very clean and comfortable, although excruciatingly hot. The saving grace was the pool which is not large but provided the essential ability to cool down.

The mokoru was a little disappointing - we had all anticipated it bringing us closer to the wildlife but it turned out not to be so. However we saw hippos and some other game, and the full day driving safari at Moremi was incredible. We saw such a variety of beautiful wildlife and loved every moment.

The Guides were all very knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel safe. The Lodge staff were also friendly and helpful. I would have liked more information on tipping the staff/guides as we were not well equipped with cash and the staff depend on tips more than we realised.

The refreshments and water were plentiful and of a good standard.

We had a wonderful time and would recommend it.

Flexible, professional and full of dedication
4/5

We had a great time travelling through the Mzansi Experience.
Okavango Delta & 2 day Safari trip in the bush were definively worth while as well on human side than on wildlife discovery.
Thanks to our guides that proved to be real professionals.

4/5

The operators was always available and response soon. Take also care about any idea fron us and was passioned whne we changed our shedule again. They make excellent proposal and suggestions to make the joureny even more excided. The one remark are in regards the price transparence and arguments about it. But in general the package was so good that we choosed it.

Hi Bodo,

I am extremely glad your tour worked out so well. I was quite a bit of options we had to look at, with some changes along the way - but we were happy that we could tailor-make a package suiting your specific needs. With all the changes, additions, removing of options and looking at different packages, I am aware that keeping thread of the package costs might have become confusing. However, when you decided on the final package - I did confirm to you that pricing was correct as Cailyn calculated - and still offered additional discount. the package, as you know after your magnificent experience, is brilliant value for money.

I am glad that your experience far surpassed any small qualm you might have had in the process.

Warm greetings,
Leon & Team

Good tour with a couple caveats
4/5

Good tour with responsive staff. Boteti camp provides a nice winderness feel with comfortable tented rooms and washrooms. Caveat is that Moremi Game Reserve is 2.5 hours away (one way), which we overlooked when booking (our fault). When booking, know that your safari day will be tiring because you have to leave at 5 am.

Hi Harry,

Thank you for your review. Botswana is a very expansive area, sometimes not with long distances to cover but road conditions taking up a lot of time too! We are however pleased that you had a good time while staying with us.

Warm regards,
Leon & Team

Well organised but overpriced
4/5

We had an overall great experience with Mzansi. Our stay at Boteti river lodge was great and the activities were nice. The food was likewise good and the staff friendly, but considering we weren’t even 48 hours there, the price was simply too high for Botswana.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you enjoyed the experience. For a 3-Day & 2-night package, compared to what is available in the same area - our pricing (for international guests) is very competitive, and level of amenities offered much higher.

We have done our research quite well on this - but still appreciate your input.

Kind regards,
Leon Steyn

Best option to visit Kruger Park (and Panorama Tour)
4/5

I have to say that I was traveling alone and hiring a package with Mzansi Experience that included everything (hotel, airport transfers, safaris and food) was the best decision I made after doing so much research and finding out. First of all, the hotel (or camp) is very comfortable, it has heating and air conditioning, a refrigerator and everything you need for a wonderful stay. It is about 30 minutes or 1 hour from the entrance to the Kruger and they organize excursions with specialized guides, they are punctual and breakfast is included. Please ask Michael as a guide, he is the best and with him you will have the opportunity to see many animals, it is incredible. The people at the hotel are friendly and very professional. The experience included the Panorama Tour and it is a must, you cannot leave the place without that excursion. The hotel food is very good and dinners are included, the beds are comfortable. I have to say that for a woman traveling alone I felt safe and cared for at all times. I think that for the person traveling alone it is the best option since there is no public transport nearby and guides are needed to visit the park. I was never charged for two people, which I found very important because many operators there ask you to pay for 2, which is a scam. The package includes being picked up at the airport round trip, it's great. In short, do not find out more, contract with Mzansi and do not worry about everything, without wasting time.

Nice Accommodation, Poor Safari
3/5

Most of the value of this 2-night package, which is higher than most, is in the accommodations, a fairly luxury fixed tent on a platform with private toilet and shower, at a nice lodge with a pretty good breakfast and dinner included.
The mokoro ride my first afternoon on the river next to the lodge was actually better than the more-hyped full-day "safari" mokoro ride on the delta the next day. There were plenty of birds, some hippos close by, and a beautiful sunset at the end.
The "safari" mokoro ride on the delta the next day first required a long, bumpy ride to get to the launch site. The actual mokoro ride through thick reeds was just okay. Not as many birds and the hippos only briefly appeared a long way off and quickly disappeared. The mokoro then landed at some remote spot and my guide took me on a long "Bushwalk" that was basically pointless. For the entire two hours we walked there was no wildlife other than a few random birds. The only thing that made it remotely interesting were some animal skeleton parts that looked like they'd been there for decades. My guide wanted to walk me a long way off to another area where the animals "might be", but I declined as my mobility was not up to an even longer hike.
Even if there had been animals, I question if making such a trek on foot a long way from any help with an unarmed guide was even a good idea (we did see some lion tracks).
The only thing that salvaged the day was that on the long, bumpy vehicle ride back we came across a herd of elephants.
The other safari option in this package was a Full Day Game Drive, but I learned from other guests that while there was a decent amount of wildlife, the drive to get to them was even longer, bumpier and more taxing than the one I took.
Three positives were my mokoro guides Kaiser and Carrie and my driver David. They were all very amiable fellows.

Hi Nicholas,

We value your feedback and are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the luxury tented rooms and lodge. As with any safari tour, there is some travel involved before arriving at your destination. We clearly disclose the Camp’s location in our initial email correspondence and uphold a high level of transparency with our travellers – answering any questions that they may have after a bit of research is done. We kindly request you to consider that the abundance of wildlife during a mokoro safari or bushwalk is beyond our control. Please bear in mind that you are venturing into their natural habitat where they roam freely. Our experienced guides carefully select island stops within the Okavango Delta, aiming to maximize the chances of encountering animals while prioritizing the safety of our travellers.

We did initially provide you with a comprehensive package, offering more opportunities for animal sightings, and later honoured your request to change to a much smaller package to accommodate your limited budget. We regret to learn that you faced mobility challenges during your experience. However, it is important to note that we were not made aware of any mobility issues on your part. Had this information been disclosed to us, we would have been able to make appropriate accommodations and suggest alternative activities that require less physical movement. Transparency about such matters is crucial for us to provide the best possible service.

Warm regards,
Mzansi Experience Management
