Best African Safaris...
This was one of the best organized tours I have done from start to finish. Communication with the company was excellent and the guide replies were always prompt and to the point. Our guide was wonderful and had great knowledge of the local flora and fauna and the accommodations and food were better than expected. I highly recommends Freka African Holidays to everyone. EDDIE IS THE BEST!!! Literally such an integral part in making this the best trip ever.
Honestly, do this trip. Freka made it so easy to book and select the activities and lodging experience we were looking for, we though it was almost too good to be true. But once we touched down in Uganda, we got Eddie as our guide and he handled everything and made this trip absolutely amazing! We went to see gorillas as our main reason for flying to Uganda, but some of the other activities that were included with Freka tours that weren't top of our priority list became our favorites, like visiting the villages in some of the areas we stayed. I mean from magical sightings of animals, amazing lodges and hosts and guides, and then the moving experience of getting to know people in different villages and learn their way of life just made this trip unforgettable. I am recommending everyone use Freka and visit Uganda -- it was the most beautiful place on earth!

Terrific Guide on a Once in a Lifetime Experience
Freka provided us with a tailored itinerary that met all of our necessary requirements. We loved our guide, Eddie, who was knowledgeable and had years of experience that he shared with us on every leg of our trip. While the gorilla and chimp trekking were definite highlights of the trip, one of the most special and unanticipated aspects of our trip were the friendships we struck with Eddie, the staff at each lodge, and the villagers along the way. We will definitely be returning and Freka will be our operator of choice!

Great trip
Great trip from Kigali to Binwi Forest in Uganda for Gorilla trekking. Emily handled the booking process very helpfully, and Innocent picked me up, got me across the borders easily and got me everywhere on time, and was very informative. Cheaper than seeing the gorillas in Rwanda and Freka Holidays was very good value for money
Great value for money, excellent guide and experience!
My friend and I did a six day safari departing from Kigali and ending in Kampala. It included Gorilla and Chimpanzee treks, boat rides, and cultural experiences.
Our guide Ronald was excellent. He was prompt, dependable, friendly, and an excellent driver. He answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed.
We did the mid-range (as opposed to budget) package which I think is definitely worth it because it’s a big upgrade but not a big price difference.
Most of the lodges we stayed in were stunningly beautiful. One or two of them were less so, but definitely acceptable and we were well accommodated.
The Safari Van we rode in was not a luxury vehicle, a bit old but it was consistently cleaned and it was comfortable enough, even during longer drives.
I can honestly say that this trip, at this price point, is an absolute bargain and I wouldn’t hesitate booking it again. Do your research on exactly what you want to see in Uganda because the staff at Freka made it clear that they could customise their itineraries to your liking or needs.

Incredible gorilla encounter
We had a fantastic trip with Freka to go gorilla trekking. Our guide Farouk was lovely and very knowledgeable. The Lodge in the mountains for the night before the gorilla trek was lovely, with stunning views across the valley to bwindi forest, and the food was amazing. The highlight of the gorilla trekking was an awe-inspiring experience to be so close to a group of wild gorillas. We would recommend it to anyone!

Reliable
Went on a gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with Freka. Was such a special trip! Freka was professional, responsive, reliable, and fair. Our guide, Jared, was very kind and helpful. The accommodation was fine for the price (we chose the budget option) and everything ran smoothly. I recommend this outfit to anyone looking for an affordable, spectacular mountain gorilla trek.

THE BEST TOUR COMPANY & THE BEST GUIDE WE LOVE FREKA!!!
My boyfriend has wanted to do a Gorilla treck for many years but I have always been concerned about safety and also the price of the tour. I wanted to book something memorable for his 30th birthday and so I reached out to a few providers to find out a little bit more information. From the very beginning Freka stood out. Emily in the office was amazing at helping me put my dream route together and advising me on things that I shouldn’t miss! The communication was excellent and Emily really helped me to feel at ease throughout the whole process. We booked the 4 day itinary that included the trip to the gorillas as well as a chimp treck and the kwaszi Chanel. The price of the trip was absolutely incredibly I was worried that maybe we may loose value in the lodges but everything felt very high end.
When we arrived we met our tour guide Gerarld. We have travelled to over 50 countries as a couple and we have to say that our experience with Gerald as a guide was really one of the best! He m my by ade the experience so special and always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! Gerald understood the things we were interested in and took us to activities that were not included in our itinerary such as the trip to the equator. These things went on to be some of the high lights of the trip and wouldn’t have been possible without Gerald. Gerald also ensured we got a great group for the gorilla treck that matched our fitness levels as a result our gorilla experience was so much better than we could have ever imagined! If you can request Gerald as a tour guide I would definitely recommend you do so! We have been on safari previously and Tanzania and didn’t have a great experience with our tour guide so it’s very important to get a guide you are happy with! Uganda as a country felt very safe and the people were so friendly and passionate about making your Uganda experience an amazing one.
So to sumarise if you are looking to book a safari in Uganda / Rwanda or Tanzania Freka is the company you should book with and hopefully you are lucky to have Gerald as your guide!

Great gorilla sighting experience
The communication was great from the beginning to end.
I am very impressed with the care the gorilla habitats and the gorillas are given. I love the fact that they are completely unbothered by human activity since so much care is placed into their well being.
It was truly a dream come true to get to experience something like this.
I booked a luxury tour and both of our luxury accommodations were great. I was really impressed with the level of service at the 4gorilla Lounge.
Our vehicle was unreliable….. there was leaking break fluid, flat tire, seat belts didn’t work, and there was no AC. It would have been nice to be able to close the windows especially during the long drives on dirt roads.
Our drive was longer than usual because a bridge collapsed, but it was still an interesting experience.
I forgot my tripod in the vehicle and my driver dropped it off at my hotel the very next day- so kind of him.
The only thing I would change would be to maybe add a bit more education about Uganda’s history, way of life, customs, etc while on the tour, and upgrade the mode of transportation.

Amazing 5-days Rwanda and Uganda wildlife tour
Rwanda and Uganda with Ronald. I had an amazing time seeing golden monkeys in Volcanoes NP, gorillas in Bwindi and chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest. I also saw loads of savanna animals during game drives in Queen Elisabeth and Akagera NP.
Ronald is a super fun and helpful guide and I am really enjoyed his company and skillful navigation of the Ugandan speed bumps ;)
