A fantastic trip! Yes, you can arrange and organize everything yourself, but Tanzania would be a challenge… This was perfect for us. Together you decide on the route, and everything else is taken care of and ready!

We had an absolutely amazing safari experience! Everything was perfectly organized, and the accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, and in stunning locations.
The highlight of our trip was definitely our guide, Clever. His knowledge of the wildlife and nature is incredible, and he always knew exactly where to find the animals. On top of that, he has a fantastic sense of humor and was always in a great mood, making every game drive fun and enjoyable for the whole family.
Clever truly went above and beyond to make our safari unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you for an incredible experience, we would highly recommend this safari to anyone!

Everything was planned very well, with all the things you need when you go on safari!
First of all, thanks to Green Hippos because of the good facilities. The jeep was comfortable and filled with all the musthaves for a safari. Also the schedule was perfect, we saw a great variation of landscapes and animals.
Beside that, I really want to thank our driver, named Clever. Clever is the driver you wish you’ll get when you book a safari. We were on safari with Clever for a whole week. This friendly man was always full of energy and excitement! Clever has also very much knowledge about the animals, trees, plants, nature processes, and all the other things you want to know! He really became a friend of us in this week. I’ll always recommend this guy to anyone, because he’ll make your safari a 10/10!

We had an incredibly wonderful time in Tanzania and Zanzibar. Our guide Clever was amazing! He managed to find all the animals with us and did his very best. Absolutely WILD
Wow! I don’t even know where to begin. What an incredible adventure.
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been fascinated by wildlife and the natural world. To finally stand right in the middle of it all was something I had only ever dreamed of. Over the past few weeks, that dream finally came true, and I owe a huge thanks to Green Hippos for making it happen.
Everything was organized to perfection. The accommodation, the staff, the food, and the countless activities were all outstanding. For me personally, the safari was the experience I had been looking forward to the most, and somehow it exceeded every expectation. Tanzania is simply overflowing with incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.
But the biggest reason this trip became so unforgettable was our guide, Clever.
You can see as many animals as you like, but without Clever, the experience would never have felt the same. His passion, enthusiasm, and endless knowledge made him an exceptional guide. He was always happy to chat, genuinely interested in everyone, and besides teaching us about wildlife, we had some amazing conversations about life in Tanzania and life back home.
During every game drive, he always seemed to know exactly where to look. His eyesight was incredible, but even more impressive was his understanding of animal behaviour and the bush. He knew where to search and when to wait. He also got along incredibly well with the other guides, and the communication over the radio often helped us get close to some truly extraordinary wildlife sightings.
When it was time to say goodbye, it honestly felt like we were saying goodbye to a member of our family.
Does that sound exaggerated? Not to us.
This journey was simply unforgettable. A well-deserved 10+ from us.
We’re now relaxing and reliving all those amazing memories on Zanzibar, while still keeping in touch with our guide, Clever. Thank you for everything.

We really enjoyed all the beauty Tanzania has to offer, this will not soon leave our memory,
we will certainly enjoy it for a long time to come! What a wonderful country and lovely people!
After a personal call with Astrid, Green Hippo Travel put a great tailormade trip together.
Not once did we feel bored or did we feel like we were repeating a previous day.
The accommodations that were chosen for us were small-scale and often of a special character
in the middle of nature, with great service and friendly staff
Once we arrived at our destination, we got a personal briefing from Heleen on what to expect on daily bases for the trip itself.
Again, personal, relevant and with great detail
Every new day had something amazing to look out for and to enjoy.
Our guide Bahati also had a major contribution to this, there was an immediate click,
he looked for the most beautiful spots and told us about Tanzania, the origin of the Ngorogoro crater and the Serengeti, he knew a lot about the animals, birds and nature, we enjoyed his stories!
In addition, there were also nice jokes back and forth he was great company!
Also the mountainbike trip, the local lunch and the walk with the ranger was fun

a fantastic travel itinerary for us, fully tailored to our wishes and all expertise of Tanzania
The totale order of our 2 weeks trip through North Tanzania was perfect. All accomodations (Lodges) were great (except one) and different options were also part of our tour. All details were perfectly planned in line with our wishes and advices of GreenHippo
Day by Day we had a wonderful trip starting in Arusha National Park first and after that via Tarangire National Park to Serengeti, Ndutu area, Ngorongoro Crater and a finaly to the Maasai wonderful located opposite of the Kilimanjaro. Our driver was reliable, good, with fun, very flexible and had much experience about animals, villages and Tanzania culture.

The perfect trip!
Went on a great safari with my family. Stayed in Tanzania for 3 weeks, with 16 full days of safari. Went to all the great parks, saw everything we hoped for and more, stayed in lovely lodges and met amazing people.
The Green Hippo put a great trip together. Not once did we feel bored or did we feel like we were repeating a previous day. Every new day had something amazing to look out for and to enjoy.
This was all made possible by maybe the best safari guide ever: Valence. I doubt there's something or somewhere in the national parks Valence doesn't know about. Always anticipating our needs and helping us to make an already great trip even better. From taking great care of his landcruiser every day, organizing extra trips and excursions, spotting every single animal on our list, greeting us with a happy smile every morning and mainly just being an overall great guy!!
If you have the chance to go on a Green Hippo safari you should absolutely take it. And don't forget to ask for Valence.

AMAZING
You have those trips that you only experience once in your life. From A to Z everything was arranged down to the last detail. From picking up, with a nameplate, at the airport to saying goodbye at the Maasai. They thought along with our wishes, additions were made and adjusted so often until it was completely customised. During one of our fantastic park tours we had a breakdown with the car so we stood at a garage for 2 hours. Totally unexpectedly we got an app a day later in the evening that we would get a special breakfast at the Maasai the next day. We were picked up and, together with the Maasai, had to walk a bit and in a beautifull place a chef was on site making breakfast for us. Never been so happy with car problems ;-)
Also certainly because of Simon, our driver, we were allowed to see the big 5 and the trip was really crazy so if we may give 1 tip: book at Green Hippo.

Wow. What a life-changing experience we had with Green Hippo Travels!
The fast response from Astrid, Heleen, and Karin was great. We decided last minute to make a booking, and they did an amazing job giving us the perfect offer.
We had a 6-day safari with the best driver, guide, and friend you can imagine: Clever.
Not only did he show us the Big Five and many other beautiful animals, but every single day he greeted us with his big smile, making sure we had the best day possible.
He is a very smart young man and knows so much about the areas we visited.
He wasn’t just the perfect guide for us as adults, but also for our young son, who was in tears when we had to leave.
