They're responsive until they get your money
1/5

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked a private tour. Below are just some issues I faced with this company:

1. Rude guide. Being that I'm his only client on a private tour, it's inexcusable that he gave very little information and loved to chat with his guide friends but neglected me.
2. I specified I didn't want to camp and wanted very nice accommodations. The price reflected much nicer accommdations. They ended up booking me in some lodges with no hot water (it's winter in namibia and freezing on the skeleton coast), broken lights, and no heat while it was just 3 degrees outside.
3. They booked me a photographer. He showed up an hour late the first day. Took terribly over-exposed photos that were worse than photos on a phone. A month later, he still won't edit the photos in any way to make them look professional. People's Safari won't respond to my emails and won't take any responsibility for this issue.
4. The logistics were poorly planned. They didn't look for lodges close to destinations so we ended up losing time driving several hours out of the way. I guess they were trying to save money at the expense of tourists' time.

They're happy to take your money but give subpar accommodations and customer service. Please save yourself the headache and avoid this tour operator

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously and would like to address the concerns you mentioned:

1 Guide Experience: We understand that the guide was not to your satisfaction initially. As soon as you informed us of your discomfort, we immediately arranged for a replacement guide to ensure your comfort and safety. However, it's important to note that our guides are trained to prioritize safety, and they mentioned that there were instances where not following instructions could have led to unsafe situations. We regret any confusion this caused during your trip.

2.Accommodation We apologize if the accommodations did not meet your expectations. You had booked a mid-range tour with budget constraints, and we did communicate that certain higher-end luxury accommodations would require an additional charge. Some of the accommodations you desired were only accessible by flight, which also required an additional fee. We always strive to offer the best possible options within the agreed budget.

3. Photography Services Regarding the photographer, we did inform you from the beginning that we do not have a specialized photographer on staff. We recommended a photographer, subject to your approval, and regret that his work did not meet your expectations. We understand how important capturing memories is and apologize for any disappointment this may have caused.

Finally, we sincerely apologize for any other issues that were out of our control and negatively impacted your experience. We are committed to improving our services and will take your feedback into account to ensure future guests have a better experience.

Thank you once again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Sincerely,
Albin

It’s safe for me to travel with my guide.
3/5

I think my guide is average.
It’s my second time doing safari in Africa.
I paid quite a lot for a private tour this time as the designated dates and duration of group tour are quite hard to match my own schedule. But I feel a bit disappointed as I didn’t get better service than last time. I feel safe to be with my guide. But he definitely needs rooms of improvement for photo taking skills as the photos are often tilted for no reason.
Also my guide always asked me to help him take photos in my phone and then send him back. I think it’s an inappropriate action. It’s like a few times per day but not one or two times. I sometimes feel a bit annoyed about it as I’m not supposed to be his photographer. I’m the one who paid!

Drove safely from each stopping point; quiet.
3/5

Pros (+) We made it to each location safely and in a relatively timely manner. The hotel in Swakopmond and Desert Lodge were both great stays. The food at the Lodge was excellent. The tour to Dune 45 and Big Daddy were great. The day trip in Swakopmund was outstanding.
Cons(-) The trip would be better if we were able to choose the restaurants. We ate in Hungry Lion on the drive and Pubs in Swakopmund. It would have been better if the meals were not included in the cost and we were in our own to find a restaurant of our choice. Also the tour started a few hours late and the communication regarding the late start and the plan to fill the time was poor.

It really was an incredible country but what made this trip unforgettable was clearly our guide Leo
4/5

Namibia has a lot to offer. It's really an incredible country with diverses and varied landscapes). One of best countries I've seem in my life (and I travelled a lot).
But what made this trip unforgettable was
clearly our guide Leonard

I was not motivated to come to Namibia at first.
I did not have too much expectation on this trip because I didn't choose the destination and we also have encountered some difficulties with the travel organization.

We would not have experienced this journey the same way without Leonard.
He made us discover this country in the best way.
He was more than a guide, he became a travel companion (the 3rd person of our duo).
Shy at first, he quickly adapted to us, with his kindness, his sense of humor (he aligned his sense of humor with ours) and his willingness to always want to do his best for us to enjoy our trip.

He always cared about our comfort and mood. He was considerate and did everything to make us discover his country in the best possible way to enjoy it, even if it means getting up early to take advantage of the places and avoid other tourists.

He was not just a guide who drives us and waits for us to finish. He was a leader and he was very patient. He did everything with us: eating with us, climbing the dunes with us, riding a quad with us, laughing with us, taking pictures with us, visiting places with us, making fun of us, taking us to places that were not necessarily on the program but which he identified as our centers of interest.
He caught up with the bad organization and gave us the best recommendations.

We left on two but clearly we enjoyed this trip on three. It made this trip more fun, more enjoyable, more comfortable, more beautiful. He cared about our safety, making sure we ate 3 meals a day and slept well😂😂

He really has a good heart and we could see that he carried a real passion for his job.

The language barrier was complicated (I am French with a basic level of English) but he was patient with our language difficulties.

To conclude, what we can say and remember about Leonard: he is attentive, passionate about his job that he masters very well, persistent and determined to make us discover more and more, especially during the Safaris where he never let go, always wanted us to see as many animals as possible (with a top view to reflect the animals on long and fast distances).

Thank you again Leo for this trip, I am really grateful and I hope to be able to see you again :)

Reliable, professional and fun
4/5

Had a great 2 day trip with Leonard, Windhoek to Sossosvlei to Walvis Bay to Swakopmund and back to Windhoek.
Leonard was absolutely great! Friendly and reliable and with good chat almost like going with a friend. He is professional and knowledgeable and also a quick Namibian sand dune climber (equivalent to a Swiss mountain goat). Thanks for great days I will recommend you to friends.

The friendly staff were there to help me so that I wouldn't feel anxious.
4/5

The operator gave me some appropriate advice even before the tour, as I was worried about it.
I got sick during the tour, but the driver was always there to support me.
Pickup at 3:30 was a tough start to the tour.
But I'm grateful for their kind support. Thanks to them, I enjoyed the tour.

Our guide Luke was a caring and easygoing person. He tried his best to provid us an unforgettable experience in Namibia. Safari in Etosha ,visiting the human village ,the rock drawing in damaraland, the galaxy sky in spitzkoope. Stay close with wild sea animals in Swakopmund ,The beauty of nature in Deadvlei and sandwich harbour did impress us.Luke also brought us to some traditional market n restaurant so that we can experience the authentic food in Namibia. We love all the arrangement and enjoy the whole trip so much.

Reliable
4/5

We had a wonderful trip in Namibia, experiencing spectacular landscapes, fun activities, cultural immersion, and an amazing safari. What truly mattered to us was the perfect pace of the trip. At no point did we feel rushed, yet we had plenty of time to explore. All of this was made possible thanks to the capable hands of our guide, Phelep, and his trusted assistant. Phelep’s deep local knowledge, excellent command of English, and constant attention to our safety made the experience even more enjoyable. We have no hesitation in recommending Phelep and People’s Tour & Safari.
