Best for us ever
Great travel agency if you need a memorable experience while in Africa. They organized for our team a 5 days 4 nights Eastern Uganda Adventure where we had a lot of fan, adventures and memories on the River Nile and Mountain Elgon's Sipi Falls.

Well organized safari with very good accommodations.
Safari was very well organized and accommodations were very good including the food. Good value for the money.
Recommendation to include Lake Bunyonyi was excellent.
Excellent experience with mountain gorillas in Bwindi.
Excellent experience with golden monkeys at Volcanoes National Park.

Organised
I had Godfrey as our guide.
He was organised and knowledgable.
Accomodations given were good. Van had aircon, was pretty new.
Just note to bring a small fan as the weather in Uganda is hot and there are no fans in the accomodations provided.
General tip, always check how long your safari time would be, if it's shorten, do not hesitate to question and they will make it right.
I did a 3 day's gorilla trekking at bwindi forest. Last min added a safari trip to lake mburo.

Very nice 5-day safari
DAV responds very quickly and gives you all the information through Whatsapp. The safari was quickly organised. Nice pick-up service. Tour guide drove safe, even though the traffic could be chaotic. Nice activities, which we could adjust during the trip if we liked. We've seen (almost) all the animals we wished to see! The lodges were beautiful, with very nice staff.
The only thing was that through the Whatsapp communication there were some repeated mistakes. However, when asked for clarification, they were quickly recoverd.
We would recommend DAV safari to family and friends!

Great value for money tour.
After searching for tours on the internet, I booked a 4 day tour witch Davs Safari from the UK before coming to Uganda. Communicating by whatsap and email. I was met by my Guide (Julias) in Jinja and set off on a 4 day tour. Due to my location the transfer on the 1st day was very long, this wasn’t a problem as I was able to take in so much of the local community and experience real local life. Julia’s pointed out a fare bit of knowledgeable attractions and assisted with any of my requests. Be prepared for a bumpy ride at times (Ugandan massage) id suggest that older or more disabled travellers request comfortable transport whilst booking your trip as some roads are not as smooth as others, don’t feel intimidated not to ask the guide to slow down or speed up. Meal plans throughout were catered for and were of good standard and variety, all I had to pay for were my drinks, after reading the contract back I should have only had to pay for alcoholic drinks so make sure you confirm this from the start. I was impressed by all the lodges booked bar one which didn’t seem to have a lot on the menu for breakfast and dinner. All staff were friendly and helpful no matter where I went, there’s a lot of security around so safety wasn’t an issue. Be sure to understand the currency and best to use local shillings UGX or Visa pay (we know it as contactless or card payment) I wasn’t hassled to tip staff at locations, I used discretion and gave as necessary which was really appreciated by the staff. Pack light get all the equipment you need for hiking and get yourself fit for an enjoyable experience. Even those with disabilities can hike on certain tours as the local staff will arrange for assistance at a cost. The tours were impressive and I got what I paid for, my only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see a full grown silver back Gorilla like I wanted too, however I didn’t get to see and get close to a family of Gorillas and take some memorable photos. If at all your itinerary has to change in any way discuss this with your guide and then his/hers supervisor, something is always workable. I must again say that my guide was superb all the way, honest reliable and willing to address any issue. The tour itself was good value for money and definitely worth the money I spent.

Safari in Uganda
We booked a 9-day safari trip with Dav Safaris and managed to see four of the Big Five, as well as gorillas and chimpanzees. Julius, our guide, gave us the best experience possible and maximized our chances to see the wildlife. It was a great vacation, filled with breathtaking views and unforgettable nights under the African sky.
However, we faced significant issues with our vehicle: the first van had engine trouble and was replaced after the first day (a new van was driven from Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park), only for us to discover the next day that the replacement had the same problem. To prevent the engine warning light from staying on, our guide was forced to turn off the A/C.
Additionally, communication with Reagan, the agency coordinator, lacked professionalism. He guaranteed us single rooms before departure but failed to mention that this accommodation was not always available. We would have appreciated being informed of this possibility in advance to manage our expectations.
Despite these logistical issues, thanks to Julius, we still had a memorable trip. We hope Dav Safaris will address these vehicle and communication gaps for future clients.

9-days Safari in Uganda
Our guide and driver, Julius, gave us an outstanding experience in Uganda, doing everything possible to maximize our chances of seeing wildlife and making each moment of the journey worthwhile. We had nine days, supposedly during the wet season, and set out to see as much wildlife as possible in its natural environment. Remarkably, the rain always seemed to fall when we were indoors or safely in the van, as if perfectly timed for our itinerary. The animals were far from shy—apart from the elusive leopard—and we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the wild, bringing home unforgettable memories and stunning photographs.
Despite unexpected challenges with our vehicles—both suffering engine failures—Julius remained calm, resourceful, and fully committed to our safety and schedule. He handled every situation with professionalism and determination, ensuring that our trip continued as smoothly as possible. We had a great time with fantastic excursions, all perfectly organized, and we are truly grateful for Julius’s dedication and care throughout this incredible adventure.

14 day safari Excursion without Dav Safaris
My wife and I just returned from the Dav Safaris 14 day Wildlife Safari in Uganda. We enjoyed every excursion we went on in the 14 days. There was a wide variety from driving and walking safaris to cultural experiences and of course chimpanzee and gorilla trekking. The gorilla and chimpanzee trekking was outstanding experience. I also highly recommend visiting the Karamojong village in Kidepo as well as the Batswana Community in Bwindi. Every lodge we stayed at was very nice and the Ugandan people were very friendly. Our guide and driver for 14 days, “Jungle Jeck” was very punctual with time and we felt very safe on the Ugandan dirt roads with him. Probably Jeck’s only downfall is he is not real personable but after spending 2 weeks with him I figured out that’s just his personality. The negative aspects about our trip were the itinerary When the drives say 4-6 hours you better expect 8-9 hours. The itinerary is too crammed in of places to go for a ilittle bit of time. We drove 5 hours to Beautiful Lake Bunyunyl, arrived at 530 pm and left the next morning at 730 am. It really was not a sufficient time to enjoy it. Also we drove to Hoima , arrived at noon and did nothing all day. That to me was a waste.of time. Many of the lodges only offer 1 choice of entree for dinner , so if you are a picky eater you end up eating cookies in your room. Reagan, the owner, sent one of his employees to the first lodge I was staying at to collect over$7000 dollars that they said we still owed which was already paid in advance so make sure you receive a receipt for all your payments. All in all we enjoyed our trip with Dav safaris, I strongly feel that Reagan needs to update his itinerary to be more realistic with the travel times and maybe 1 less place to visit so you can spend a little more time at the others. Please don’t let this Ebola outbreak in the Congo affect your trip to Uganda. We felt very comfortable and safe there. The government of Uganda are taking measurements to keep the country Ebola free.!
