Very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around
5/5

I had a great experience with Dav Safaris. They did an excellent job planning my accommodations, made it possible to enjoy a wide range of activities while staying within my budget, and took very good care of me throughout the trip. I also really appreciate Isaac for being such a knowledgeable and supportive guide. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour, guide, accomodations and food! Sit back, relax and enjoy.
5/5

We have just arrived back from a last minute 10 day tour organised by Dav Safaris in beautiful Uganda. We had a wonderful time and Solomon was an outstanding driver and guide, who gave it his all to make our trip worthwhile. We are so pleased with our experience, the shared laughs during the game drives and dinnertimes and definitely recommend him!

Booking a last minute trip to Uganda (we confirmed the tour on the 31st of January to leave on the 10th of February) was a bit stressful because we didn’t have much time to arrange flights, visa and a tour. After having requested quotations from multiple company’s we decided to go with Dav Safaris. Their offer was transparent on drive times, activities and accommodations. Optional upgrades for accommodations along with the additional costs were included. This allowed to research the different accommodations but also to upgrade at specific locations instead of just choosing basic, midrange of luxury for the whole trip. After our research we decided to stick with all the proposed accommodations and didn’t upgrade anywhere, because they all looked wonderful and had excellent reviews. Our own experience only confirmed this.

In addition the offer was at a reasonable price and we read many positive reviews about Dav Safaris on different platforms (Facebook groups, Google reviews, Tripadvisor).

Although the original offer was a standard itinerary, it was clear we could request adjustments to customize it to fit our wishes. For instance, we added a hike to the crater lakes after our Chimpanzee trekking because we liked to spend a bit more time in nature.

Arranging the trip so last minute felt very stressful at times, but once we arrived it was clear everything was taken care of and we could just relax and enjoy. Solomon was an excellent guide who handled everything with great care and communicated very clearly with us. He was calm, held a short briefing every evening during dinner about the next day, what time we would have breakfast, what time we should leave and which activities we would be doing. At one point he expressed concerns about the itinerary for the last day but he helped think ahead about how we could resolve the issue without losing out on any activity or experiences. This really showed his engagement to giving us the best possible trip.

Other than that, Solomon even fit in a couple of extra game drives when we were up for it, so we really got the most out of our time and money spent in and on the parks. It was clear he also just really enjoyed doing them, which likewise added to our excitement. Something else we were very impressed with is how he knew all the roads by heart. He didn’t you use any gps at any point, which showed he’s experienced and you could trust him, he knew what he was doing.

So overall, we had a great trip to Uganda and excellent first experience in Africa thanks to Dav Safaris!

Tips for travellers: definitely bring all your waterproof gear for the trekkings, and, if you have them, bring some binoculars. They can come in handy for game drives!

Great experience with Dav Safaris
5/5

We had a great experience with Dav Safaris for a 5-day trip of Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking. The itinerary was well arranged (the trekking experience was absolutely amazing), the accommodations were clean and spacious and increasingly better throughout the journey. Our guide and driver Gracious was a gentle and professional young man. We enjoyed the time with him and would recommend Dav to all.

Most Amazing Trip with Dav Safaris and our Guide Gracious!
5/5

We went on a 5-day chimpanzee and mountain gorilla safari through Rwanda and Uganda with davsafari and couldn't be happier and more satisfied. Communication and organization with Reagan was simply perfect and very straightforward. All aspects of the trip went as planned and were handled smoothly, punctually, and pleasantly. The lodges, including the rooms and food, were also perfect. On our previous trips, we sometimes had problems with the food, but not here. The food was always fresh, clean, and delicious. The lodges were in a great location for trekking. The rooms were also clean and very spacious. Encountering wild chimpanzees and gorillas was truly indescribable, but the absolute highlight of our trip was our guide, Kato Gracious. He was truly the nicest and best guide we could have asked for. We had the best time with him and enjoyed every day! On the sometimes long journeys between the national parks, he always went the extra mile to show us highlights along the way, ensuring we had an unforgettable trip. We cannot express enough how highly we recommend him. We will definitely be back, and there is no doubt that we will book with davsafari again!

Highly Recommend Benja as Your Guide in Uganda
5/5

Benja!
Following recommendations from several friends, we chose this tour operator, and they did not disappoint. Our guide was Benja, who was incredibly patient and an exceptionally skilled driver. I hadn't realized how challenging the road conditions would be on the way to Jinja and to see the mountain gorillas, but Benja navigated them masterfully. He has a great instinct for choosing the best paths, and my family repeatedly commented on his confident yet cautious driving.

Beyond his driving, he took the initiative to point out landmarks along the way. He was also thoughtful, finding safe spots for us to briefly stop and photograph the beautiful scenery and animals we encountered. This really showed his patience and attention to detail. As our English isn't the strongest, we were especially touched when, during the guide allocation before the gorilla trek, Benja stayed with us to ensure we kept up and were assigned correctly. It was an unexpected and truly heartwarming gesture.

Our trip to Uganda was fantastic, but reflecting on it, a skilled and punctual guide is absolutely essential for such an experience; they truly elevate the entire journey. We feel so fortunate to have had Benja. We are genuinely grateful to him and highly recommend both this tour operator and Benja to anyone planning a trip to Uganda.

Job is the GOAT (greatest of all time guide)
5/5

My wife and I visited Uganda and let us say that our experience was amazing.
Our guide Job, was the perfect guide. He is so friendly, kind, caring and very knowledgeable. His genuine nature and passion with his guiding approach and really made this experience unforgettable. He was always on time, and made extra efforts to ensure all our expectations were met. He went above and beyond what other guides would do. He made videos for us capturing the highlights of the day and even made sure that we were able to see the lions during a game drive by trusting his instincts and expertise. Job always brought the energy and made every day special for us.
If you book a safari in Uganda you need to request Job Francis as your guide!

Thank you Job!

Best Guide is Job!
5/5

We had the absolute pleasure of having Job as our tour guide for our 6-day gorilla trek and safari in Uganda, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience, especially as this trip was part of our honeymoon. From the very beginning, Job was personable, friendly, and incredibly attentive, and always going out of his way to make sure my husband and I were comfortable, happy, and fully immersed in the experience.

Job has an amazing ability to point out things you would otherwise miss. Whether it was wildlife, scenery, or cultural details. He made every drive and every stop engaging and meaningful. He was always checking in with us, adjusting plans when needed, and making sure each day felt special and stress-free. His planning was excellent: he was consistently on time, organized, and thoughtful about how each day unfolded, which allowed us to relax and truly enjoy ourselves.

What truly set Job apart was his deep connection with the local community. Because of his relationships and respect within the area, we were able to experience Uganda in a much more authentic and enriching way. It never felt like a standard tour, it felt personal, welcoming, and genuine. His knowledge, passion, and pride in his country shone through in everything he did.

Job didn’t just guide us through Uganda, he made our honeymoon unforgettable. We will always look back on this trip as something incredibly special, and a huge part of that is thanks to him. We would recommend Job to anyone looking for an exceptional, well-planned, and truly memorable safari or gorilla trekking experience.

Great value for money tour.
4/5

After searching for tours on the internet, I booked a 4 day tour witch Davs Safari from the UK before coming to Uganda. Communicating by whatsap and email. I was met by my Guide (Julias) in Jinja and set off on a 4 day tour. Due to my location the transfer on the 1st day was very long, this wasn’t a problem as I was able to take in so much of the local community and experience real local life. Julia’s pointed out a fare bit of knowledgeable attractions and assisted with any of my requests. Be prepared for a bumpy ride at times (Ugandan massage) id suggest that older or more disabled travellers request comfortable transport whilst booking your trip as some roads are not as smooth as others, don’t feel intimidated not to ask the guide to slow down or speed up. Meal plans throughout were catered for and were of good standard and variety, all I had to pay for were my drinks, after reading the contract back I should have only had to pay for alcoholic drinks so make sure you confirm this from the start. I was impressed by all the lodges booked bar one which didn’t seem to have a lot on the menu for breakfast and dinner. All staff were friendly and helpful no matter where I went, there’s a lot of security around so safety wasn’t an issue. Be sure to understand the currency and best to use local shillings UGX or Visa pay (we know it as contactless or card payment) I wasn’t hassled to tip staff at locations, I used discretion and gave as necessary which was really appreciated by the staff. Pack light get all the equipment you need for hiking and get yourself fit for an enjoyable experience. Even those with disabilities can hike on certain tours as the local staff will arrange for assistance at a cost. The tours were impressive and I got what I paid for, my only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see a full grown silver back Gorilla like I wanted too, however I didn’t get to see and get close to a family of Gorillas and take some memorable photos. If at all your itinerary has to change in any way discuss this with your guide and then his/hers supervisor, something is always workable. I must again say that my guide was superb all the way, honest reliable and willing to address any issue. The tour itself was good value for money and definitely worth the money I spent.

Highly professional and flexible - excellent tour operator
5/5

We cannot recommend this company enough - our trip was perfect. They responded very quickly and were highly professional. There was a misunderstanding about the starting point of the trip (only a few hours before the departure of our flight) and Reagan was reactive and we could very fortunately solve the problem before getting on the plane. Also the lodges that the company chose were lovely.

The main reason why this trip was so special to us was our driver Isaac - he was incredibly kind and always in a good mood. I appreciated how protective he was of us and I felt safe 100% of the time thanks to him. When we had special wishes or questions, he was always there and tried his best to make everything possible. Also he chose the best restaurants for the days we were on the road. My fiancé and I had a hard time to say goodbye after one week as we were able to share so many memories, laughs and happy moments. I did not expect to create such a beautiful bond.

If we could go back in time there would only be one thing we would change - we would not do the Batwa Community Walk at Gifted Children Foundation which was included in our itinerary. We heard a lot about foundations who exploit small communities and use poor people as a backdrop and travelers as cash cows — and unfortunately, this experience was exactly that and left a very bad taste. Of course, this is not DAV Safaris’ fault, but perhaps it’s something that could be reconsidered or avoided in future itineraries.

Every other experience was excellent and we loved every part and minute of it. Thank you Isaac - you are a great person and we were honored to spend our trip with you. We could not have found someone better - lots of love

Incredible !!
5/5

Our safari was an absolutely incredible experience. We had the chance to observe a wide variety of wildlife in breathtaking landscapes. Each day amazed us more than the last.
The choice of lodges was exceptional. Every place where we stayed and dined was outstanding, combining comfort, quality, and a true immersion in nature. We truly fell in love with one lodge in particular, and our guide arranged everything at lightning speed with the agency DAV Safari so that we could enjoy an extra night there at a lower cost. The service was impeccable!
We recommend our guide Isaac 300%. He is a cheerful person, deeply respectful of nature and wildlife, with an excellent sense of humor. Throughout the journey, he taught us so much about the country, the tribes, and even the local politics. We always felt supported, protected, and completely safe by his side.
We met as strangers and left as friends.
A huge thank you for this unforgettable experience!
