FANTASTICI!!!
5/5

Fantastic! A wonderful safari with Makini Tanzania Safari. I spoke with Naomi, a local who takes care of planning the safari just the way you want. She was helpful and very kind from the start.
Excellent people, they made everything easy for us and pampered us. If I had to recommend them, I definitely would! Well done guys, Simon was our ranger, we miss you and can't wait to come back. ❤️

A magical safari experience where we felt looked after and stress free from start to finish.
5/5

This was my first safari experience and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Makini put together a superb initerary for us, making tweaks and adjustments according to our preferences and budget. The accommodation in Arusha was perfect (Summit Lodge) with swimming pool for relaxing and a top floor bar and restaurant.

Day 2 was a trip to the Materuni village, driven expertly by Rama. We walked to the waterfall and ate a hot lunch prepared and served by the villagers who were all extremely welcoming.

Day 3 was the beginning of our safari at Lake Manyara where we saw elephants, giraffes and a honeymooning lion couple, all before a delicious hot lunch of chicken, rice, vegetables and salad, looking over the magnificent views of Lake Manyara. We stayed overnight at Ngere Lodges and enjoyed an hour beside the pool before supper, again cooked by our chef Pascal.

Our driver and guide was Gift and I cannot imagine a better guide. He is an exceptional driver over very challenging terrain and always stayed calm. Our comfort and safety was his primary concern. His English is impeccable as is his knowledge of the parks and wildlife. In addition, he seems to have an instinct for seeking out the animals. We spent 3 days in the Serengeti and another day in the Ngorongoro Crater, where we saw the Big 5 in abundance - 5 black rhino, 4 leopards, and dozens of lions, elephants and giraffes.

Our accommodation was in tents for 3 nights which was comfortable and allowed us to listen to the wildlife from our beds at night. Our chef, Pascal, kept us well fed with the best food we had in Tanzania. A great variety over the 5 days, a 3 course meal and always with tablecloth, napkins and proper crockery. Each meal comprised 4 or 5 main dishes of meat, vegetables, rice/pasta/fried potatoes, salad and homemade bread (at the campsite the bread rolls were baked in front of us on the fire).

We enjoyed a sunrise tour, and many happy hours in the jeep with Gift who was unfailingly generous in his knowledge and patience. The Serengeti is truly amazing.

After 5 days safari, we flew to Zanzibar for a few days on the stunning beaches. We took a boat tour which included swimming with dolphins and snorkeling over the coral.

Truly a holiday of a lifetime.

Unforgettable 5-day safari: well-organized, adventurous, and guided by an outstanding team
5/5

We booked a 5-day safari with Makini and had a wonderful experience!
The night before departure, Naomi gave us a clear and friendly briefing and we even received a Makini Safari t-shirt.
During the safari, our guide David did an exceptional job. He was always enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife, and could answer all our questions with ease. He spoke fluent English, which made communication effortless and enjoyable throughout the trip. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five! At one point, the door lock of our safari vehicle stopped working (something quite normal given the rough and bumpy roads in the parks), but David handled it perfectly, quickly fixing the issue on the spot so we could continue our adventure without any interruptions. David even went above his usual duties as he made sure we had a smooth transfer to the airport after our trip. Our group of four shared the vehicle with three other travelers who had almost the same itinerary as ours, except for one night. Everything was very well organized, and the trip ran smoothly from start to finish. Our chef, Richard, prepared every meal and the food was absolutely delicious!

Overall, we highly recommend Makini Safari to anyone looking for a well-organized, memorable, and truly authentic safari experience in Tanzania!

The safari experience you have dreamed of
5/5

The communication was perfect from the time of booking to the end of the tour. We had a fantastic guide, Fadhili, he was professional, kind and made sure we see everything. We had a lodge within Serengeti, where you could hear the lions roaring at night and see them from the terrace of the restaurant. It was a truly authentic experience.

A Life-Changing Safari Experience with Makini Tanzania Safaris
5/5

As a solo female traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtfully planned and professionally executed safari. From the very beginning, Naomi at Makini Tanzania Safaris was exceptional — not only did she organize every detail with care, but she also stayed in close contact throughout the journey, responding promptly to any questions or needs.
I had booked a mid-range safari, but what I received felt like high-end luxury. Compared to others in our combined group (from two safari companies), I was treated to an unforgettable night inside the park at a luxury tented lodge, complete with a magical drive through Maasai villages — while others stayed outside the park. It was a deeply personal and enriching experience.
The wildlife encounters were breathtaking, and the vast open grasslands and atmosphere of the parks left me absolutely speechless. Every moment felt like a gift.
Thank you, dear Naomi, for your dedication, warmth, and outstanding support. I wholeheartedly recommend Makini Tanzania Safaris to anyone seeking an authentic and elevated safari experience. Truly an adventure of a lifetime!

Wonderful safari with smooth logistics and great service!
5/5

I booked a 7 day mid-range price safari with Go Makini, starting and ending from Arusha, which included Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and the Materuni Waterfall + Coffee farm tour. All of the services including coordination by Nancy and tour guide/driver, Laurence, where very good! They were helpful, friendly and always provided what the guests needed for a comfortable trip. I was also very happy with the accommodations, all of which had great food and amazing staff - Suricata Boma Lodge really stuck out as the best stay of my trip. I would recommend this package to others!

7 days safari tour
5/5

We had such a good week with Makini. Communication both during booking and during the trip was so smooth with Naomi. Our guides Machete and Manuel were both lovely and very knowledgeable. We picked the camping option and were surprised to have showers, charging and cold beers even when staying in the middle of the bush! Richard our chef cooked amazing hot meals 3 times a day (we had expected packed lunches) and catered very kindly to my allergens. Yes the camping is basic but given how remote we were we were pleasantly surprised and twice ended up in a lodge when we thought we'd be in a tent. Plus its pretty magical to camp among all the wildlife!

Amazing experience!
5/5

It was an amazing experience, thank you so much!

Peter was a perfect guide, he gave us so many information about animals, he was very passionate about his job and wildlife. He was also very kind, and created a good and fun atmosphere in the group.

About the accommodation: We booked campsite safari and we had the very good surprise to stay in a lodge the first night instead. For the 2nd and 3rd nights we stayed at the Serengeti campsite which is not really good and washrooms need a renovation. The last camping was good and confortable.

Amazing, went above and beyond
5/5

We spent 5 days across tarangire, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and lake manyara with makini safari. We couldn’t have asked for any more. From arrival at the airport until departure, our needs were catered for. The main form of contact is through WhatsApp, so don’t let this put you off. The lady we made the booking through, Naomi, went above and beyond for us and made sure everything was put in place. Our driver, Peter, was amazing from the start. Full of knowledge, funny and ensured we had a great experience. We were able to learn so much from him, from the animals we saw to local knowledge and the culture we were immersed in. Pascal, our chef, travelled to each location with us, cooked fresh local cuisine each day. He catered to everyone and nothing was too much for him and we thoroughly each meal. Overall, a great trip, a massive thank you to makini for making this possible. The group we had was amazing, memories that will last forever.
Ellisia and Kris!
