Superb safari destinations, seamless organization!
A Dream Come True
We recently returned from an amazing Safari in Kenya that was organized by Rose Hipwood and her team at the Luxury Safari Company.
This was our first safari and our first visit to Equatorial Africa.
When we were planning our trip, we searched the internet for information on Safari companies…Rose’s website stood out as being well prepared and informative. We decided to contact her whereupon she organized a video conference call with us. During that call, Rose homed in on the wildlife we hoped to see and experiences we were seeking. From there Rose curated our dream vacation.
From the moment we arrived in Nairobi we were keenly aware that having Rose’s knowledge and connections were priceless; as we had been advised, the airport in Nairobi is a bit chaotic. As promised, we were met immediately, assisted in getting our luggage, being delivered to our driver who then took us to our first destination, the beautiful Hemingways Hotel. That same driver picked us up the next morning and thankfully ensured that we were checked in at the Wilson Airport, the hub for safari destinations.
In order to accommodate our wildlife wish list, Rose had arranged for us to visit three different locations: Ol Donyo Lodge in the Chyulu Hills, Saruni Samburu (now called Saruni Basecamp) near the Rift Valley, and Rekero Camp in the Masai Mara. This combination provided us with the opportunity to see vastly different terrains, elephants, lots of beautiful elephants, two types of giraffes, two types of zebras, two types of gazelles, wildebeest, cheetahs, lions and lionesses that got so close you could pet them, hippos, crocodiles, the elusive serval cat, a leopard and birds of every feather; the list goes on!
Each of the camps was stunning in its own unique way, yet they all provided us with exceptional wildlife viewing experiences, outstanding guides, fabulous food, and incredibly caring and attentive managers and staff.
Rose suggested that we end our adventure at “Alfajiri”, a beautiful property near Diani Beach on the Indian Ocean just south of the Equator. Our villa, the host and staff were all fabulous! It was a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate, another exceptional experience!
Rose and her team at the Luxury Safari Company organized our vacation with seamless precision. They arranged for the best accommodations and service providers in the business, thereby ensuring that we were safely delivered to every airport, camp, and villa. We were assisted with all of our needs, even an unexpected one for medication. All we had to do was wake up and wait to see what nature wanted to share with us.

Very responsive, turnkey, and knowledgeable
Rose did an amazing job pulling together a 4 week itinerary for us. Moving around between camps is very sophisticated (we met several stranded travelers). Rose made it seamless and hassle free. The facilities chosen were top notch! I would highly recommend.

We arranged a trip through The Luxury Safari Co to Zambia in 10/25. We worked with Rose who is quite knowledgeable about all of Africa. She answered all of our questions very quickly and seems to always be available for consultation. All arrangements were made as expected and there were no negative surprises on our trip. We visited 3 different lodges with transfer by taxi and small plane. There was not a single snafu with all of the somewhat complicated itinerary. The 3 lodges- Sindabezi, Sausage Tree, and Sungani were all different and all excellent in their own ways. We will definitely use The Luxury Safari Company again for future trips to Africa.

This is the 3rd trip I have done with the Luxury Safari company and they certainly did not let me down this time. Once again all the details of the trip ran as smooth as possible. The lodges guides and staff were so accommodating and first class. The reliability of everything was as stress free as it was with the first trip I took over 7 years ago. I would highly suggest the Luxury Safari company if you are planning this type of a trip. The value for what you received was what you would expect. I plan on going back to Africa again and would definitely book with them again.

Superb and blind trust!
This is my third trip with Rose and the Luxury Safari Co. From day one she has known exactly what to recommend, fully meeting my budget and expectations. My family of five , three adult daughters, just returned from our second trip booked by Rose . I called Rose last year and asked her if she could plan another trip for us but that I wanted it to be completely different than the first amazing trip she organized for us in Kenya and Tanzania . Rose knocked it out of the park with organizing an 12 day trip to Zambia !!! Every detail was taken care of , the activity level was exactly what we wanted and the level of the camps were perfect !! I strongly recommend that anyone planing a safari trip to Africa use Rose Hipwood for a once in a lifetime ( or in our case a twice in a lifetime ) experience that you will treasure forever !

A n outstanding experience from first enquiry and throughout our amazing safari
I wanted to organise the trip of a lifetime for my daughter, son in law and 4 grandchildren aged between 5 and 17 and Rose and the Luxury Safari Company delivered on every level. Having never been on safari before, Rose expertly guided me through all the options and delivered a holiday beyond all our expectations. Two camps, very different but both superb with excellent guides and hospitality where we immersed ourselves into the safari experience then out to the beach at Diani for a sublime finale. Everything went like clockwork and our Kenyan hosts could not have been kinder or more helpful and informative. A truly luxury experience in every sense of the word and one we will never forget.

An absolutely fabulous holiday combining the beach and safari in Kenya
This is the second holiday we've booked through Rose at the Luxury Safari Company and once again, her recommendations fitted us perfectly. Rose's communications with us were all super efficient and timely which made for a very smooth booking process.
As a group of 6, us and our twenty something sons and their girlfriends, we firstly stayed at the beautiful Alfajiri Villas on the Diani Coast. There was something for everyone here with wonderful food, setting, service and sports for all.
We then travelled seamlessly to Hemingways Ol Seki for an amazing safari experience where once again the quality was excellent.
Rose's attention to detail in making sure we got the trip that we were expecting means we would not hesitate in recommending The Luxury Safari Company for anyone looking for a truly special holiday.
