First class all round
We have just returned from an absolutely wonderful 15 night holiday spanning two different Safari locations and the island of Zanzibar. From first contact to a welcome home message, Rose provides a friendly and first class service. Her recommendation of Sirikoi Lodge in Lewa and Cottars 1920 Camp in the Masai Mara was faultless, the two centres complimented each other perfectly and enabled up to see a wide range of northern and southern animals. We travelled with our two daughters, age 7 & 11, and they had the most amazing experiences, including having their own 'tent' and guard at Sirikoi and feeding the pet giraffe there. Everything was taken care of from the moment we landed in Nairobi and were met coming off the plane with a private car to the arrivals hall! After a week of safaris the beach at Tulia, Zanzibar was the perfect end to our trip. It is true that Africa gets under your skin and we are already dreaming of going back. If you are looking for hassle-free, friendly, knowledgeable and first-class help to book your holiday to Africa then you will not be disappointed in the Luxury Safari Company.
Absolutely wonderful
We went to Kenya and Zanzibar with the excellent help of Rose Hipwood and the Luxury Safari company. We spent 3 nights at the superb and authentic Cottars safari camp in the Masai Mara (it felt like we had travelled back in time...) and then we went to a beautiful villa resort in Zanzibar. I cannot recommend this company enough. Everything was sorted and taken care of, from food preferences (we traveled with a young child) to drivers, airplane transfers, gold guides and gorgeous accommodations. It was the best holiday ever, and we are already making plans for another trip. I cannot recommend these people enough. I wish Rose could plan my life!!

First class
When I first contacted Rose to enquire about setting up our holiday in Kenya and Zanzibar, I really had very little by way of a brief. But after a short chat, Rose picked up on what we were after and emailed us details of some amazing places to choose from. After we honed it down to a location with a view of Mount Kenya (my husband is a budding photographer) it was an easy choice to go for Lewa. After this, everything was taken care of, from transfers to last minute queries and details. The overall experience was simply wonderful in every way and I would recommend the Luxury Safari Company with no hesitation - we are already planning the next trip!

Flawless
We first contacted Rose about 4 weeks before we left for our trip (just before Christmas). We thought this might be a bit last minute but it proved no issue. We had a simple brief in that we wanted the best possible experience but knew nothing about Kenya or safaris. From the moment we landed all was taken care of. We had no need to contact Rose at any point and felt comfortable and looked after throughout the trip (we have travelled a lot but never to Africa). If there was a way to improve upon the service offered by Rose and the experience we had on holiday I cannot imagine it.

Informative, helpful and attentive
Rose helped us book our 16-night honeymoon in Africa that ended up being the trip of a lifetime. She was very knowledgeable about the places we wanted to visit, offered her insights and feedback on decisions that we were making (without being pushy!) and stayed in touch with us leading up to and after our visit. We took her recommendations on where to stay and they ended up being more than we could have hoped for. It's clear she knows the resorts that she suggests and I would definitely use her again if we went back!

Very professional and super responsive service
Rose and her team did an amazing job! We booked the trip last minute (over Christmas and New Year, a lot was booked already) and had many criteria - she managed to organize everything in a way that exactly met our requests and needs, making it a fantastic and unforgettable experience for us.

A fantastic experience, which really was once in a lifetime!
Rose and her team did a wonderful job organizing my safari. I went to Kenya and she made sure that all the details were seamless. I had very limited ideas of where I wanted to go initially, and she helped me to decide which camps would be best for me as a single traveler. We decided on Else's Kopje, and Mara Plains which were both absolutely incredible. The entire experience was amazing and the game viewing was unbelievable! I would definitely recommend her to help plan and execute one's dream adventure.

Rose did as superb job for a magical safari in Tanzania
Rose and team were super. I had planned a safari in Tanzania with her and then my schedule had quite some back and forth, first to cancel then to re-instate and she was marvellous making it all happen. Super responsive, fast, knows the places. Best service and highly recommend !

Exceptional service around the clock - goes beyond the trip itself
I wanted to take the time to write a review about the Luxury Safari Company, in particular working with Rose. She planned the most spectacular honeymoon for my husband and I in September. We experienced the most fabulous, luxurious accommodations at each stop along the way - Cape Town, wine country and South African Safari in Madikwe Reserve. She knows exactly what she is talking about when it comes to where to stay, when to go, the amount of wildlife you will see, etc. My husband and I talk about the trip literally every day. Rose won our trust over so much that we have since reached out to talk about returning to Africa again as soon as possible... yes, even in the same year. The issue with a trip to Africa though is it takes A LOT of research, planning and is quite the investment. Naturally, we have to go back and forth with Rose quite a bit to figure out if another Africa trip is in our future... and I ask a million questions along the way. Sadly, timing hasn't worked out for us to return again yet, but just the fact that Rose is so patient and willing to talk us through so much research even when a trip isn't booked, just shows her dedication to her clients. My only complaint is that Rose can't plan every trip in our life for us :) If you are debating on whether or not to go to Africa ... GO. If you are debating on whether or not to use Luxury Safari Company - trust me - they are the best - and this is coming from a very picky, skeptical New Yorker.

Rose and team were very communicative from beginning to end. She was quick to respond to our pre-trip questions (and there were many), emails, etc. We changed our minds many times, went back and forth a lot, and each time Rose was very quick to respond (cannot stress enough how big of a help that was). We worked on an extremely tight timeline (under 1.5 months from initial contact and leaving for our trip).
We had actually no idea what to expect as we didn't have much time to actually look at all the places Rose booked for us in detail or even review everything the way we normally would for a trip. As soon as we landed we were blown away with the level of service we received, the quality and level of luxury in the places we were staying, etc. Rose and team nailed exactly what we were looking for in terms of the style of hotels, resorts, and safari lodges we were interested in and we were extremely satisfied with what we got and what we paid for it. Every little step of the process was well taken care of and every detail accounted for. It was very nice to not have to think about transferring to/from airports and lodging and to have all our tours/activities set up in non-safari areas. Everybody and everything was on time and efficient. All safari tours had incredible service and friendly & knowledgeable tour guides and lodge managers.
One big thing was during our safaris my wife got an infected bug bite and we needed to get medical attention in Johannesburg. I emailed Rose at the last minute and she was able to ensure that our original plan was properly changed and everything new taken care of before we landed so that we went straight to the medical facility and then back to our hotel seamlessly.
Overall, what we asked for and what we were looking for were both well-taken care of and accounted for. From the tours and activities in Cape Town to all of the safaris and 3 lodges we stayed in in Zambia and finally to our beach resort in Mozambique, everything felt seamless/easy and every stop along the way was better than the previous. If you've never been to Africa, I wholeheartedly recommend you go as it will change your life (and not just because of the wildlife!) and that you work with Rose and her team to plan your trip out.
