Best Adventure Ever
5/5

I can’t say enough positive things about this company and what they provided for our group. They were willing to go to the nth degree to ensure we were happy, safe and got to experience everything that we could ever want. The guides were very well informed extremely helpful and always up for a good laugh. we spent three weeks in Tanzania and another week in Uganda. They’re planning for getting us from place to place was without a hitch. I never thought I’d see so many animals! They knew where to take us and I have never been on a better vacation in my lifetime. Elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, cheetahs, leopards, flamingos, birds galore, monkeys, hyenas, jackals, zebras, hippos, rhinos, gorillas, and more! You name it we saw it! When we were in the middle of the Serengeti, the soles of my shoes started coming off. Brian (the owner of the company) said no problem, and somehow got my shoes to a cobbler hours away and return to me the next day with brand new soles for just a few dollars. We were also given the opportunity to experience different tribal cultures, which was very inspiring! If you’re thinking of going on a Safari, I have the highest recommendations for Ecological Wilderness Adventures! This group is the best of the best! I miss you Amiri! - Lynne

Amazing Tanzania Safari
5/5

We had a fantastic safari with Ecological Wilderness Adventures. This was our second safari with them since we enjoyed our first in 2012 so much. And this one was even better! We have been on safaris in many African countries and think that Tanzania is the best- so many parks and wonderful, well protected wildlife. We really like that this company is owned and run by local Tanzanians. Brian Mengoriki and his colleagues are friendly, professional and helpful. They took care of us from the moment we arrived to our departure. They are flexible- we designed our own safari itinerary and were able to add on a few stops as we went along. We had a small group of five friends and travelled in a comfortable safari vehicle. We visited Tarangire National Park (so many elephants!), Ngorogoro Crater (rhinos and much more), and the northern Serengeti, where we stayed in the field camp owned and run by Ecological Wilderness Adventures. We saw so much wildlife up close every day, including lots of lions, two leopards, beautiful birds, and sooo many wildebeest. Brian and his guides go beyond just spotting animals to tell about their behavior, ecology and how all the ecosystem fits together. I am a conservation biologist and still learned a lot from them. They were respectful of the animals too, which we appreciated. All the lodgings were fantastic with great food and comfortable rooms. Personally I like their Serengeti camp the best since we were immersed in nature. Wildebeest grazed outside our tent during the night which was so exciting! In addition to wildlife we learned about the local culture through a visit to a local town and banana farm, and a super interesting visit to a Masai village. We also visited the Olduvai Gorge museum where bones of early humans were discovered by Dr Leakey and colleagues. So interesting. We highly recommend going on safari to Tanzania with Ecological Wilderness Adventures. We can’t wait to go back again!

Spectacular Trip
5/5

We booked the trip with Ecological Wilderness Adventures so see the great migration and boy did we. We saw three wildebeest crossings of the Mara River in two days. We probably could have seen a fourth if we had hung around with a herd in the late afternoon (although maybe they would have waited until the next day). We had great spots for taking photos of the crossings thanks to our guides Amiri and George (our driver)

We visited Tarangire National Park Ngorongoro Crater and the eastern and northern Serengeti. All of the places, arranged by EWA, were great. We had plenty of sightings of other animals and we are happy to see birds, reptiles and all variety of mammals. We ended up seeing 137 special of birds in an 11-day trip.

We also had a very nice cultural tour in the town of Mto wa Mbu and the drives through the Tanzanian countryside gave us a great view of the country.

I highly recommend EWA
