Organised well for your enjoyment experience
I traveled from Entebbe Uganda through to Kilgali Rwanda over 7days.
Jimmy was the driver/guide of my jeep, he was excellent throughout the tour!
I was delayed arriving from Nairobi and they accommodated an airport pick-up and we set off to the first stop at Lake Mburo. The accommodation was excellent, this standard was matched throughout my eight day trip.
Walking amongst giraffes the next day in the national park accompanied by a ranger was a special moment.
Later that day we transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park for a two night stay.
I was very lucky to see two leopard up close on our full days game drive also getting a boat ride in on lake George.
The highlight of any Uganda trip has to be watching Gorilla's in the wild. Bwindi National park is made up of dense forest vegetation. Thanks to ‘spotters’ who go out many hours before you venture on your gorilla trip it is possible to pin point a gorilla family in advance. We were fortunate as we only had to walk 30min to get to them. An incredible sight watching silverbacks climbing through the tree and shrubbery! Staying in the forest for two nights was so atmospheric. Crossing through into Rwanda was relatively easy. At the time of my trip the visa was free for UK citizens and acquired at the land border crossing. For Uganda make sure you get a visa well in advance of your planned arrival.
In Rwanda I did a golden monkey trip and then we drove through to Kilgali for my hotel.
I would recommend Semu Gorilla Safries.

I can’t imagine a better guide and tour operator. Simply the best!
Semu Gorilla Safaris and Tours was a complete God send. We decided to take a short trip to Murchison Falls and do the big 5 game tour. First I’ll say, out of many different companies I contacted, Edison was the most responsive and gave the best presentation of the different options. The entire process was clear and detailed. From being greeted at our hotel, everything in between and finally delivered back, Edison made for the most pleasant and memorable experience that exceeded every expectation. We received a wealth of knowledge and history about the region along the way, and enjoyed friendly and fun exchanges. We all fell in love with Uganda and when we make it back to see the other parks, there’s no question we’ll be looking up Edison at Semu Gorilla Safaris.
Informative and fun loving.
This was my first time in Africa and so first time in safari, so I didn’t know what to expect. I am used to taking fairly luxurious vacations and so this was a little different of course. I was blown away by the experience. We may have good favor in being able to see so much wildlife. We went to the Rhino preserve and tracked the rhinos by the trampled grass. We got within 30 meters of 12 wild rhinos! We also went to Murchison Falls National Park and saw many animals. Giraffes everywhere, elephants everywhere, buffalo everywhere, etc. We saw lions and lion cubs. The lodge was great with a beautiful background. All in all an unforgettable trip!

Trip
Me and my brother found them online, sent them a message and they answered me right away, gave me a breakdown of everything, listened to every request and responded accordingly. Their price is great. We did a 7-day trip, enjoyed every moment, they solved every problem we encountered along the way. Our guide Tony was very nice, took great care of us and made the trip fun.

Helpful and knowledgable
We had a wonderful trip with Jimmy from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and back. Over the course of three days, we experienced an adventure that was both exciting and relaxing. Everything was well organized, and Jimmy kindly answered all our questions along the way. Seeing the gorillas was without a doubt the highlight of our journey! As a family, we highly recommend Semu Gorilla Safaris!

Incredible 2-Day Gorilla Safari with Semu Gorilla Travel and Safaris – Highly Recommended!
We booked a 2-day gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with Semu Gorilla Travel and Safaris, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our entire Africa trip.
Our guides, Edison and Jimmy, were simply fantastic — protective, reliable, and extremely knowledgeable. They helped us explore Kigali’s key sights, gave rich insights into Rwanda’s history, and made our border crossing from Rwanda to Uganda smooth and stress-free. They also informed beforehand what we need to bring for this trek.
They arranged everything perfectly — from the gorilla trekking permits to comfortable accommodations near Bwindi. Both Edison and Jimmy had exceptional knowledge of birds, animals, and the forest ecosystem, which made the whole safari even more engaging.
A big shoutout to Jimmy, who is not only a wonderful guide but also a very skilled and safe driver, even on challenging mountain roads.
If you're looking to explore Bwindi National Park, do a gorilla trek, or simply want a trustworthy local operator for travel in Rwanda and Uganda, we highly recommend Semu Gorilla Travel and Safaris. Their personalized service, deep expertise, and warm hospitality truly made our journey unforgettable.

Efficient and great communication
I did a one day trip to Uganda from Kigali and it was amazing. It’s a long day, leaving at 2am, but absolutely worth it. A special shout-out to by guide, Justice, for helping me deal with a visa issue at the boarder when returning to Rwanda.

Amazing gorilla safari
Thank you for an amazing experience! We will remember this for life!
Everything went so smooth, and thank you for your fast replies.
The only comment, we have was that the 10 m distance were not kept. We believe our guide let us closer with good intentions, but for us we would have preferred to keep the distance for the gorilla’s sake.
Thank you once again!

Semu Gorila Safaris
It was a great experience in Africa, the trip was personalized, I was the only tourist, my guide was very kind, smiling and patient, I value your great experience and knowledge, took me to various places of interest, was very punctual and contributed to making my experience unforgettable. Although it was a few days, I managed to see Girafas, Lions, Elephants, Panthers, monkeys and other animals in their inhabitants, many of them through binoculars as in the park they do not walk very close to humans.
Jimmy was an amazing and wonderful guide!
We loved our trip. We did a 3 day safari in Murchison and then decided to do the Gorilla trekking. We visited the Rhinos and saw many animals in the Park. Put accommodations were amazing. Our guide (Jimmy) was very knowledgeable on everything. We were able to see the Gorillas after a short walk off of the road, which was very helpful due to some physical limitations that we had. We were so impressed and he made sure we had the most excellent accommodations and a lovely time which we did. I would highly recommend Semu Safari.
