A tour full of breakdowns !
1/5

We have the horrible experience with this tour company on our 3 days safari tour .
The car is constantly broken down at least 7 time during the whole trip.

The first day morning we are 2 hours and 15 mins late for departure. After we stop for lunch ,the batteries died again.Basically the first day we didn’t do any game drive and just rush to the campsite.

The the second day morning the car died again.Other people at the campsite come and help to push the car and half hour later we were able to start the game drive.in the afternoon the driver constantly jump out of the car in the middle of the national park to open the trunk to check the car. After 1 hour the left side stirring of the car fell out and we continued driving to the campsite very slowly.

The third day morning the driver need to call the machinery to come and fix the car.it took 2 hour and 15 mins.Stoped for lunch at the crater ,the car broke again. On afternoon,we realized the wiper of the car is not working properly when it’s raining outside and we were driving down on a big hills.

We ended up went to the tourism police station. The owner of the tour company kept lying in our face and claimed we have seen all the animals so we should be grateful for that. This company have very bad reputation on every safari social platform.Avoid at all time!

We haved all the documents(photos and videos)to report to the MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND TOURISM also the police said they will write to ministers to revocation his TALA!

Horrible experience
1/5

We paid a total of $1,440 for a four-day trip. On January 5th, when we arrived at the entrance of Serengeti National Park in the afternoon, we were informed at 5 PM that we could not enter because the tour company had not paid the entrance fees. Even by the payment deadline that day, the fees remained unpaid. After extensive negotiations and communication, and upon receiving a guarantee, the national park allowed us to enter first. The fees were later paid.

On the afternoon of January 7th, when we were scheduled to leave the Serengeti and proceed to Ngorongoro National Park, we were stopped again at the Serengeti park entrance at 3 PM because the tour company had not paid the fees for Ngorongoro National Park. We waited at the Serengeti park entrance until 8 PM, but the tour company still did not make the payment. As overnight stays are not permitted at the Serengeti park entrance, we were allowed to enter the Simba Camp in Ngorongoro National Park at around 8:20 PM, finally arriving at approximately 1:30 AM on January 8th.

Throughout this period, the tour company repeatedly assured us they would pay the fees but kept delaying until noon. After that, they became completely unreachable.

After we got to the the tourism police station. We spent the whole days there to try to get our money back.A guys showed up at the end he gave us 100 dollars back each and promised to send us the rest of the money by transfer . But until today I still have not get it .

Have a terrible experience with this company at all costs – fraudulent, unsafe and violent, experience
1/5

We booked a safari with 1 Wonder Expedition in July and were promised 5-star lodges and luxury tented camps (confirmed to us in writing twice). We paid €2000 in cash on arrival, but once the trip started, every hotel was downgraded to far cheaper and lower-quality alternatives with poor reviews WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. The driver was simply instructed to drive us to these alternative hotels and we only found out because we realised the direction he was driving us to was different.

When we requested a fair refund of €1000, the company’s employee “Kingi” (who had originally pretended online to be “Rachel James”) told us to come to their office in Arusha. Another tourist in the same situation was also called there.

When we arrived, seven men were waiting for us, including the Director of Operations, Ally, who had collected our payment. Instead of giving us the refund, he physically assaulted my partner when he tried to film his aggressive behaviour, HIT me and another tourist, and one of the men Tried to lock us inside the office. We only escaped by forcing the gate open.

Police were called, and Ally spent a night in custody. We have since filed a formal police report, submitted evidence, and are pursuing the case legally. We also have WhatsApp messages, photos, and videos to prove all of this.

In my experience, this company did not operate transparently — I was given what I believe were fake names and confirmations, and I felt my services were unfairly downgraded. I also felt intimidated and even feared for my safety during the trip
No tourist should ever have to experience this. Please protect yourself and avoid 1 Wonder Expedition entirely.

They completely ruined our safari experience
1/5

We booked a 6 days safari and it was a complete disaster. The organization was a mess from the beginning, we were 2 people and since they want to fill the cars they join people who don’t even have the same schedule for the safari, so a lot of time was wasted waiting for people to switch cars and arguing about the planning. The guide, called Benson, was the most arrogant and incompetent person I’ve met in a long time. He didn’t give us enough information about the planning nor about the animals and vegetation. The car was in undrivable conditions, the battery was failing even before the safari and then on our way to Serengeti we had 4 different break downs (flat tire, lost the rear fuel tank, electrical problems with some fuse…). All these technical issues not only made us waste a lot of time (2 out of the 3 days in Serengeti we couldn’t do game drive to see animals because we were either stranded in the middle of nowhere or waiting for the car to be fixed) but also ruined our safari experience and made us feel very unsafe. So please, I'd recommend that you don't book a safari with this company.

We spoke to our clients while on Safari and after finished their Safari and paid them a compensation fee on the time lost.
As the company we did our best to help them out and we fill sorry for what happened to them while in Safari.
After having time to speak to them we thought everything will be okay.

Amazing guide, lovely safari experience
5/5

I joined the group for a 4-day safari, we had a great team and an amazing guide Jeff who made the whole experience even better. He was knowledgeable, chatty and had a great sense of humor. Having a good guide on such a trip is a very big deal.
The first night we stayed at a lodge, two following nights were at camping. The food was good, the stuff was attentive.. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and wouldn't hesitate choosing 1 Wonder expedition for another trip.

Excellent Journey
5/5

I had a very pleasant three-day and two-night trip with 1Wonder. Our guide Omari was very professional. His eyes and ears were very strong. He could quickly find animals and point them out to us. He could also judge what animals they were, their location and distance based on their calls. He was also very patient and would carefully explain the characteristics and differences of animals to us. He was very professional in animals and drove very steadily. He was a very good driver and guide. Our chef was also very good and the meals he made were very delicious. I recommend you all !

Best Tour Operator
5/5

Omary went above and beyond to make our safari unforgettable. Tarangire’s elephants and towering baobab trees were a fantastic introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. The Serengeti left us speechless with its endless plains and incredible wildlife encounters. We watched a lioness and her cubs play right next to our vehicle! Lake Manyara was a beautiful oasis, with monkeys and colorful birds everywhere. Ngorongoro Crater was like a lost world, filled with zebras, wildebeests, and even a rare rhino sighting. Our lodges were comfortable, blending perfectly with the natural surroundings. The food was outstanding, with fresh and flavorful meals each day. John’s deep knowledge and passion made every game drive exciting. We highly recommend 1wonder Expedition for an unforgettable adventure! We Highly recommend This Safari Company to any Residents Organization
