6 Day Tanzania Safari
5/5

A bucket list experience. We had Okuli as our driver and guide, he was exceptional!! He went above and beyond to make sure we saw the Big 5, was flexible with our schedule/needs, great driving, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, made us feel safe & was the key to making it an amazing adventure. The guide literally does all the work(not the company) so having a great guide makes all the difference & they should be compensated properly for it all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND using okuli. If we come back we’ll request him directly. If you can, ask for him—He is Truly the best.

As for the locations, we did 4 (two below + tarangire park & lake managers). But if you are on a time crunch or want some down time, I recommend doing Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Adding in a day to enjoy the lodge or get a break should be added to your itinerary, we didn’t have that and it can be very tiring as they are long days.

We drove both ways but next time we’ll probably drive there from Arusha and fly back from Serengeti to JRO; as it’s a lot of driving and car time on bumpy dusty roads.

Also bring extra cash, most guides stop at a Maasai tribe and it cost $50-100 USD for 2 people in cash (which we didn’t plan for). It’s cool to see other cultures & can be quick so you should do it.

We stayed at Serena lodges and Simba Tentedcamp. The lodges are nicer but both were great and staff was attentive and friendly at both.

Overall great experience!
