What a safari! We traveled as a family, and we can simply say: it was absolutely fantastic!
The organization by Allano was top-notch from the very beginning. We received detailed information before the trip—what we needed, how everything would work, and what to expect on the ground. This allowed us to start the trip feeling relaxed, knowing exactly what was in store for us.
Everything went smoothly once we arrived, too. We were picked up right at the airport and given a very warm welcome.
And then there was Captain James!
This man is simply amazing. He speaks excellent German, is incredibly funny and personable, and made us feel like we were traveling with a friend throughout the entire safari.
His "eagle eye" was truly incredible. Time and again, he would look somewhere and say, "There's a leopard up ahead"—and at first, we couldn't see a thing. But then, suddenly, there it was!
Our cook also contributed greatly to the wonderful atmosphere. He was always friendly, always had a smile on his face, and worked with us to get everything ready. And the food was delicious! After a long day on safari, we always looked forward to our meals together.
We saw so many fantastic animals: lions, a leopard, baby elephants, a jackal, and much more. James always took his time and never gave the impression that he was in a rush to move on.
We would go on this safari again in a heartbeat and would definitely want Captain James as our guide. For us, he was the perfect guide, and this trip was one of the most wonderful experiences we’ve shared as a family.

We were traveling as a family and felt incredibly at ease from the very first moment. Captain James speaks excellent German and is funny, open, and incredibly warm-hearted. Above all, however, he is a very attentive and responsible driver.
Especially on the Serengeti’s roads—which can be very bumpy in places—he always made sure everyone was comfortable. After hitting particularly rough patches, he would check to see if everyone was okay, and overall, he drove very carefully and with great foresight.
What impressed us most was his knowledge. He knows the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater incredibly well and would spot animals before we even realized what he was looking at.
The cook was also fantastic. He was always in good spirits, incredibly friendly, and constantly had a smile on his face. He prepared everything nicely with us and provided delicious meals every day. This made our shared mealtimes particularly pleasant and sociable.
Captain James also shared a great deal with us about the wildlife, the landscape, and his own life. This turned the safari into a truly personal experience.

What we were able to experience on this safari was something we probably couldn't have imagined before.
Of course, we knew that you can never guarantee which animals you will see on a safari. Our guide Captain James explained this to us honestly: Nature determines the process and every day can be completely different.
In the end we were incredibly lucky and were able to see an impressive variety of animals - including a leopard, lion, elephants with their babies and even a jackal.
Captain James was incredibly patient. He was able to spot animals from a distance where we could see absolutely nothing with the naked eye. His knowledge of animal behavior was impressive.
But even outside of the game drives the atmosphere was simply great. Our chef was always incredibly friendly and in a good mood. He always had a smile on his face, prepared everything with us and prepared really delicious food for us. The meals were always a nice part of the safari experience.
We also really liked his driving style. The trails in the Serengeti can be really adventurous, but James rode very safely and responsibly and always made sure we were safe.
