Kilimajaro Lemosho Trekking
5/5

Without a doubt, this was the best trekking experience that we could have wished for, an incredible crew, great weather, and well-resourced on the just completed 8 days Kilimanjaro Lemosho trek.
Our guides, Julius and Musa, were outstanding; they cared for us and provided us with good advice on how to tackle the mountain. The trek is tough, and there were moments when we felt like giving up, but they encouraged us and helped us keep going, while ensuring that we were fit to continue with regular health checks of our oxygen levels and other vitals. The food throughout the trek was awesome. I have to give it to Steve, our cook, for creating some of the best meals we had in Tanzania. Actually, the whole crew impressed us by constantly going above and beyond to ensure we had the best conditions on that mountain.
Gecko Adventure Tanzania is a company based in Tanzania, and I am certain that we would not have made it to the summit without their support. They were recommended to us by friends, and we are over the moon with their over-the-top service. Their charges were also pocket friendly in comparisson to the other operators providing the same level of comfort and crew expertise

Camping Safari in Selous
5/5

Visiting Selous in Tanzania with Musa has been a unique and unforgettable experience. Musa helped us explore various parts of the expansive park, which was simply spectacular. We saw many different animals and participated in various activities, such as sport fishing, a boat safari on the Rufiji River, walking safaris, and unforgettable camping. Mwakio, the camp manager, was a great cook, preparing delicious dishes each time. Sleeping under canvas allowed us to connect with nature, and the tents were surprisingly very comfortable. I look forward to repeating this adventure soon.

It was a safari adventure of epic proportions
5/5

I have always dreamed of seeing lions, elephants, and other animal species in their natural habitats, and coming to Tanzania on my last trip made that dream come true. Selous is a wonderful place filled with all the animals that were on my wish list, and I got to fulfill my dream with my dear husband. We are so lucky to have done this trip with Otto, who was an excellent guide. He made the trip enchanting with the magical game drives that took us through the bush, water, forests, and woodlands of Selous. We saw elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, jackals, monkeys, wild dogs... they were all there, everything I wanted! We saw them on the game drives and during the boat safari along the Rufiji River. I cannot thank Otto enough for being such an incredible guide and Ramadhan for coordinating everything. It was a safari adventure of epic proportions.

Selous, Mikumi and Ruaha Tour
5/5

It was our first trip to southern Tanzania, and I can say with certainty that we should have done this much sooner because we have been missing out on all the good stuff. The safari took us to Selous, Mikumi, and Ruaha National Parks, and there is still so much to see that I feel the 8 days were magical, but we needed more time to better explore the pristine parks. Our guide, Juma, was excellent; he made the game drives very engaging with his knowledgeable narrations. Be prepared for long-distance drives between the parks, but we also viewed it as an opportunity to observe how the people live and to see the land. It is an experience that we will cherish for a long time.

More than a holiday
5/5

The 6-day tour through Tanzania's Selous, Mikumi, and Ruaha was spectacular! The scenery is incredibly diverse and beautiful, ranging from the marine forests of Selous to the savanna grasslands and miombo woodlands, all teeming with a variety of wildlife species. Our guide, Bonni, was exceptional both as a guide and as a delightful person to be around. He took us to many different locations where we encountered amazing sights, and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. The accommodations and food that were organized were among the best we experienced this summer. It turned out to be the holiday we desired and so much more.

Fabulous Summer Vacation
5/5

We did 6 days of Safari with Mikumi, Ruaha, and Udzungwa customized by Gecko Adventure Tanzania, and it was an amazing experience! We enjoyed the private trip with our personal safari vehicle, guided by Juma, who proved to be knowledgeable, honest, and very likable. We all fell in love with him and were sad to say our goodbyes at Kilimbero airstrip after the Udzungwa hikes. We started with a long drive from Dar to Mikumi, where we had fun exploring the park with Juma, who knew all the nice places, watering holes, and picnic sites. Ruaha was spectacular with huge baobabs, sandy roads, and lots of animals along the Ruaha River. Udzungwa is special, very well-preserved, and perfect for hiking through the pristine mountain forest, featuring many different monkeys, waterfalls, and fresh air. We are very happy that Rama customized this trip to suit our requests while staying within budget. I could not possibly name all the great things that happened on the trip, but it was fabulous!

Amazing Adventure
5/5

We just returned from a safari in Selous with guide Otto from Gecko Adventure Tanzania. I can happily say that it was truly an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Rama was an excellent host and travel designer; every aspect of the trip was meticulously organized, exceeding our expectations. We are happy with our choice of lodge, as it impressed us with both comfort and location. Otto has visited the park numerous times, so he comfortably guided us to all the incredible spots. The park is pristine with few visitors, making the game viewing experience remarkable. We loved the boat safari and sport fishing on the River Rufiji, as it was truly awesome.

Amazing trip
5/5

Our weeklong safari with Gecko Adventure Tanzania was actually better than we had expected it to be, and we owe it all to the brilliance of our guide, Juma. He was outstanding as a tracker and spoke in perfect English in a way that made everything seem important. He was attentive to our questions, patient at the interesting sites, and a witty storyteller who kept us captivated throughout the entire period.
We are pleased that we chose to stay at the lodges and hotels that Ramadhan, our contact person and trip designer, proposed because we got very good deals for them, and they were top-notch accommodations.
I wouldn't change anything about this wonderful safari.

Fun Adventure
5/5

We were happy to be reunited with our favourite guide Otto in Selous Tanzania. We did 5 days and still could not get enough of the incredible park.
Camping in the bush made the experience so magical as we felt more closely connected with nature than if we had stayed in the lodges. The boat tours and fishing in Rufiji were excellent activities that supplemented the game drives and the walking tours.
Camping was so much fun and intimate as we were the only people at the campsite. I was very impressed by the quality of the tents and equipment that we had with us. Food was great and the overall experience is so unique and well curated.
It was safari as it was in the last century

A totally Fun Trip
5/5

Our trip would not have been so much fun without Baraka our guide. He took us through all the beautiful spots in Selous, Mikumi and Ruaha National Parks and just like Rama had promised he was outstanding. Being with him was like being inside the making of an Animal Planet episode. He knew where to find the animals, about the animals and how to best position the vehicle so that we had great views and shots too.
We have not been to the parks in the South and they are epic. You do not get the wildebeest migration like in the Serengeti but the variety and peace in the south makes game viewing a intimate affair with little no crowding.
We did a camping safari which was so experiential and connecting us more with nature.
