Great travel operator that really puts the customer 1st!
5/5

We initially contacted Giltedge Africe (Southern Africa travel) by email & was very impressed that Monique Dean, our allocated tour adviser, was back in touch with us within 24hours of initial enquiry. As we were travelling from England we mainly contacted Monique via email as this was easier. However Monique did set up one telephone call where we were able to briefly outline our interests for the trip & budget. Following this call it wasn't long before Monique came back to us with an initial itinerary which fulfilled the brief exactly so we booked up! Right up to departure Monique stayed in touch & answered any last minute questions that we had, this support was also offered for the duration of the trip should it also be required.

The trip itself was amazing! We did a 3 stop tour (Cape Town, Garden Route & Shamwari Game Reserve) all accommodation that we stayed at was fabulous and exceeded our expectations! All in all a fantastic trip of a lifetime helped by the knowledge & the excellent service provided by Giltedge Africa! Would highly recommend!

From the very first conversation with Monique it was obvious Giltedge Africa (formerly Southern African Travel) knew exactly what a dream holiday meant and that's what we had, from the moment we were met at the airport it ran like clockwork, Cape Town Grootbos , Safari, Victoria Falls, Zambeze Queen cruise on the Chobe River each part of the holiday was just as amazing as each other but in its own way different an experience we shall never forget, top class accommodation wherever we stayed very friendly people could not fault it, internal flights went very smoothly and on time, can't wait to do it again!

A trip of a lifetime that just kept getting better and better
5/5

The trip we took went from Wow to Wow and was beyond our expectation. It was designed to highlight the variety of experiences available in South Africa taking us from city to country, whales to safari. The attention to detail in the planning ensured it ran smoothly and we enjoyed every part of the trip. Our consultant was readily available to answer our smallest query. The accomodation was fabulous, the food scrumptious, the animals larger than life but the people of South Africa were the highlight; so warm and friendly. South Africa was a land of contrast, community, history and amazing experiences. Can't wait to return.

The experience of a lifetime. Can we do it again, please??
5/5

A friend recommended Southern Africa Travel (Giltedge) to us to help organise our honeymoon. From the moment we contacted Giltedge Africa, we felt included and important in all decisions made. We were consulted on each step of our trip and all enquiries from us were dealt with in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
All our transfers, accommodation and pre-booked tours were expertly organised, which allowed us to relax completely on our holiday. All services provided were entirely efficient and professional with an individual touch, making us feel quite important :)
The safari tour in Sabi Sands game reserve was the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived at Savanna Lodge until it came for time to leave, we had what can only be described as an unforgettable experience. The level of service was extraordinary and every little thing you could possibly need was catered for. Without a doubt the most fantastic place we have ever stayed.
Southern Africa Travel comes highly recommended, with good reason!
They fully deserve a 10/10 review.

Amazing honeymoon
4/5

The travel agency really pleasantly surprised us with nice hotels one after the other as we made our way along the garden route. They made it a point to put us up in different types of hotels e.g. Rustic, countryside, elegant, beach resorts, etc. For us to experience the different hospitality services that S Africa has to offer. They also told the hotels that it was our honeymoon and we were treated with such love!

Special mention goes to monique who handled our booking. She was flexible and made really good recommendations, open to changing our booking to address our last minute requirements. She was always friendly and prompt to reply and we were thankful for her high service standards.

City to Safari: Adventure in South Africa
5/5

It started in Cape Town, segued to the Garden Route, and culminated at Kariega Private Game Reserve. Over the course of nine days, we experienced incredible cuisine, delightful sites, and The Big Five (well, actually, just The Big Four--still need to return to spot the Wily Leopard!). We had a lot of leeway in the actual daily activities, but the accommodations and transport arranged by Giltedge (Southern African Travel) were top-notch. Each hotel was more amazing than the last. The luxury safari tents at Kariega, in particular, were utterly beyond our wildest expectations. Thank you, SA Travel, for putting the framework in place for our amazing adventure!

We have traveled as a family extensively and were very pleased with the service provided by Giltedge Africa (Southern Africa Travel).  Strong guides, great accommodations, always felt safe and comfortable despite being halfway around the world from home.

We booked a trip in Namibia for 4 people. Everything went perfectly well. The places we went to were just amazing. We always got quick and helpful answers from our contacts at Giltedge Africe (formerly Southern Africa Travel).
I would definitely recommend to travel with them

Amazing trip - Amazing Country - Amazing Company - Amazing Staff
5/5

I can't say enough about Giltedge Africa (formerly Southern Africa Travel) and our contact Monique.  Like most people this was our once in a lifetime trip.  Monique worked with us to hit all of our points of interest within our 21 day time frame.  She handled all bookings, internal air travel and transport.  Everyone who was supposed to meet us was there on time and couldn't have been friendlier.  Clearly they all loved their county and were proud to talk about it as they educated us on everything from ancient history to modern politics.  We even got a call from Monique when we were in Cape Town just to make sure everything was going as we had imagined.
We saw Victoria Falls and had an incredible 3 days at the Lion Sands Ivory Lodge in Kruger National Park.  Accommodations were 5 star and the staff were great.  We were able to see the Big 5 and then some.  Many of them we spotted right from our deck.  From there to Cape Town, wine country and then Pumba Lodge for a second safari.  The white lions are creatures everyone should witness in their life.
Upon arriving home the typical comment was "I'm so jealous. Africa is on my bucket list."  Stop thinking about it and just go.  You will not regret it.
