Excellent service, reliable and professional!
5/5

My friends and I planned for a safari tour including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro so we heard from a friend about Ruff n Tuff safaris and told us that they offer the best services l. So we started communicating with Ruff n Tuff Safaris, they were prompt in responding to our emails. We agreed that we would need an experienced guide and that's who we got to be exact they gave us Rama Mustafa who was all we could ask from a guide. Our trip started when we arrived at the Kilimanjaro airport where we were received by the company staff who were very welcoming. During the trek the guide was very calm and not rushing us. All in all my friends and I had a great time which was made even great by Ruff n Tuff Safaris!!

Professional, safe, dependable and organised.
5/5

My friends and I had been interested in making the trek up Mount Kilimanjaro for about two year. We had done research and based on what we discovered, we all agreed that we would require a well experienced, very dependable guide company; and that is exactly what we got when we booked with Ruff n Tuff safaris.
Our trip started as we landed in Tanzania, the company welcomed us at the airport with big smiles and friendly faces; they were so excited for us, for our upcoming trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. As we arrived a day before our climb we were housed at the Ashanti Lodge in Moshi (the climb cost is inclusive of hotel cost for one night before and after the climb with two meals included with stay). The hotel was fabulous, it had a pool, amazing food, very comfortable rooms and everything is clean. The staff is friendly, helpful and very welcoming, always ready to assist with whatever you may need.
As we got settled into our rooms, the company arranged a small meeting with the main tour guide so he could walk us through what was to be expected on our journey. The guide inspected our gears, to ensure we had the correct equipment, and what we did not have, they took us to a place where we were able to rent what we needed.
Up on Mt. Kilimanjaro, we were well taken care of; the food was amazing! I was always really surprised with the variety of food that was served. They made sure we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner, even when we were not hungry; they encouraged us to eat and would not allow us to simple not eat. They made sure we were always safe; if we were struggling with our day packs they assisted us by carrying them (even when they had their own packs to carry). They carried out medical checks on us at the beginning and end of every day. I was really amazed with the porters, they did so much and when they got to the camp site they always came back to see if we needed assistance, some even walked with us (I really appreciated that).
After our climb we had a day to do some shopping, and being the accommodating host that they are, Ruff n Tuff safaris picked us up from our hotel, took us around town and stayed with us the entire time while we shopped! Made sure we got everything our hearts desired.
On our last night in Tanzania, the company hosted us at their family home where they prepared a variety of African dishes for us to try; all of which tasted great! The food was lovely; the company was cheerful, engaging and welcoming, so great that we lost track of time.
When we were leaving, even though we had just met them a week prior my friends and I felt like we were leaving friends behind. Ruff n Tuff safari is a professional trustworthy company; they are dedicated to ensuring your time in Tanzania is filled with good times and heart-warming memories. And for me and my friends I can say that they left a good impression. If I have to visit Tanzania again I will most definitely be arranging any and all tours with Ruff n Tuff safari.

Excellent company, would use them again!!!
5/5

RT Safari was very professional and clear in all our communications. We used RT Safari during our Mount Kilimanjaro hike. They responded to queries promptly and were happy to answer questions prior and after arrival to Kilimanjaro/Moshi. We had all the appropriate kit we needed due to their clear communications; we only required to hire one or 2 additional items on arrival.

During the trek itself, they exceeded expectations. We walked at our own healthy pace that allowed us to slowly acclimatize. They were very friendly and patient with us and as a result of the relaxed atmosphere we got to know our guides quite well and the whole team in general. We were in safe hands. There was never a moment of panic nor of boredom. The food throughout the mountain was excellent. There were no illnesses in our group neither did we feel we needed the extra snacks that we had brought as we were well fed and energized at all times.

The sleeping conditions were top notch. I was never cold, I had brought a 4 seasons sleeping bag that worked very well. The tents and the sleeping mats were comfortable and sufficient. We always had water to clean up after a long days walking and each morning upon waking up.

The overall experience was excellent. There was never a moment of discomfort and if I was to climb the mountain again or use their other services, RT Safari would definitely be my first choice :)

Awsome tour in Tanzania (in Africa)
5/5

My wife and I signed up for this tour in Tanzania (in Africa) seven months ago, and I am glad (very satisfied) that we took this tour. which included a BBQ lunch. Was it pricey? Yes, it was, and well worth it..
Once we arrived Safari West, we were immediately greeted by the employees, given plenty of information of the tours - one was a ride on a open aired shuttle bus and the other was a walking tour through their aviary section, and to come back around 12 noon for the BBQ lunch.
our safari tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant in answering questions from all us tourists. (Wow, about 400 acres of open space on this riding tour - I am impressed.) There were plenty of giraffes, gazelles, a few hippos, a couple of ostriches and zebras, but no lions, tigers, bears (at least not in sight)...oh, my...lol. They must have a herd of cattle somewhere because that certain aroma (dung) was in the air. One drawback while on the tour was I almost wanted to "face palm" one of the tourists in our group who was constantly complaining...yikes. I don't do well around negative energy and whining. My honey-do had to calm me down.

The walking tour was through an area with different types of animals-lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo the pond area. Nestled in one of the cages was a baby fox asleep, two turtles roaming around slowly, monkeys also in their cages and I only saw one cheetah. That's okay because I don't want to be chased by any of the animals - ostriches, cheetahs, giraffes.

After the lunch, it was off to the Trading Post. I didn't buy any souvenirs, but they did have an assortment of things - games, magnets, plush animals and snakes, accessories, books. I should have bought one of those snow globes, but I didn't see them until I looked at all 60-something photos that I have taken when I arrived home...darn.

Overall, my wife and I had a great time, and I can only hope that they will have this tour again next year.
