9 Day Camping Safari in Tanzania - 4 Adults with Driver/Guide and Cook
5/5

We had read the reviews on Safari Multiways and were impressed so we decided to give them a try. We weren't disappointed. From our first contact with Romeo via email we received prompt and helpful responses to all our questions. His suggestions regarding our safari and assistance with bookings both before and after it helped make our entire stay in Tanzania a great experience.
As for the safari itself, we were lucky enough to have Amos as our driver/guide and he was a pleasure to travel with. His experience and knowledge were excellent. We wanted to spot birds as well as animals and Amos was able to point out and identify many species. Dogoo, our cook, was also amazing, producing meals that satisfied us all, including one gluten free traveler. Amos and Dogoo were very flexible in how they catered to our requirements and definitely added value to what was already a great trip.
Travelling and camping in Tanzania is fairly rough for 55+ year olds and we knew to expect that. The roads are rough and dusty as you get further in to the Serengeti but Amos was able to navigate us around in reasonable comfort. The safari car we had was clean, comfortable and reliable but it is not luxury. Viewing was excellent and Amos found us many lions as well as cheetahs and leopards and numerous other great sightings. He also got us to 2 river crossings of wildebeest and had to assist several other vehicles that had broken down or became bogged. It was reassuring to know he knew what to do as we got bogged in sand one morning. Nothing was too difficult.
Overall we were very impressed with Safari Multiways and the service provided to us. I have no hesitation in recommending them if you are considering travel in Tanzania. One thing that we were not aware of was how flexible they can be with your itinerary. If you have your own plans or ideas then let Romeo know and he will work with you to make your dream safari a reality.

Excellent tour operator, great people
5/5

We went to a Safari in Tanzania in July 2018 with Safari Multiways. We were a group of 5 people, 28-35 years old with a good experience in traveling with local tour operators around the world, but at our first time in Africa. We wanted a 10 days budget safari, combining both camping and basic accommodations. I would not go in detail about our safari as this is intended to be a review for the tour operator, not for the trip itself.
I personally contacted several tour operators over the internet and after comparing itineraries and hundreds of mail from different operators, we decided to book with Safari Multiways. Interacting with Romeo was very easy: he speaks a good english and perfectly understand our needs. Combining our requests with his experience, he could provide us a perfectly tailor made itinerary, at a much lower price than most of the other operator. He arranged everything, so we did not have to worry about anything.
When we arrived in Arusha we were introduced to our driver and guide (Omari) and our cook (Pasco). I must say that that they were both amazing: Omari was a careful driver, very friendly with us! He was very committed to giving us the best chances to spot the animals while remaining respectful of the rules and the quiet of the parks, giving advices and informations about wildlife. We established a very good relationship through the entire trip and had fun together. Pasco was able to cook delicious meals also in tough conditions of the bush campsites with the equipment and gear that we were taking with us.
The choice of the campsites and hotel was perfect, conveniently placed in the best position not to waste time. The condition of the campsites was basic, but we requested so. The only slight complain I have to do is about the camping gear and tents, that were quite old and in not perfect condition, although reasonably clean: but I must say that we were in peak season, and we bargained a lot on the price to save money. We have met other tourists of the same company and their gear looked more recent: so I supposed that is also a little bit our fault that we negotiated too much.
In the end, our experience was 100% positive, and if I will go back to Tanzania for another Safari I will use the same company again, for sure.
Romeo organized a great safari, and Omari and Pasco made it unforgettable!

Amazing! Everything I expected and more...
5/5

Romeo was a great communicator through the whole booking process giving advice on any questions we had. Upon arrival his customer service was amazing providing us with a driver and was very patient with us as we experienced trouble with our credit card company in trying to pay. The safari was everything we hoped for and expected. A amazing experienced guide and a dependable vehicle. Would definitely use Safari Multiways in the future and would recommend it to anyone wanting a great safari experience!

Outstanding itinerary and guide
5/5

We had a fabulous safari designed by Romeo, the owner, and led by Omeray, our guide. We were looking for something a little bit different and Romeo listened to what we wanted and came through with a perfect itinerary. We spent two weeks traveling to five different locations at our desired pace with excellent accommodation. Omeray was absolutely fantastic. He catered to our every need, was excellent at spotting animals, is a safe driver and knew the answer to all our questions about the wildlife and the culture of Tanzania. We visited Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, the Ndutu region, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Every region had its unique features and we are so glad we had the opportunity to see them all. We saw the big five and many, many, more animals, saw breathtaking vistas, and learned much about the wonderful country of Tanzania.

A wonderful trip.
5/5

We couldn't be more happy with our 6 day camping safari. Romeo organised an itinerary that matched our needs perfectly, responding promptly to enquiries and requests. Every aspect of the trip went according to plan, from our pick up at Arusha to the drop off at Kilimanjaro. Our guide, Donald was extremely well organised and his knowledge and spotting ability allowed us to enjoy the experience to the full. We had excellent views of the three big cats, but the highlight was watching the birth of a wildebeest and seeing it make its first tentative steps just 20 minutes later. As a keen bird watcher, ! was happy to see almost 200 species in the six days. Our camping experience was enhanced by the wonderful cooking of our chef, Dogo, who managed to produce tasty and creative meals on a couple of kerosene stoves. A truly wonderful trip.

Great 8-days camping safari in Northern Tansania
5/5

In October we were lucky to do an 8-days budget camping safari with SafariMultiways for two persons, my wife and me. At first I'd like to point out the perfect communication: All communication while organizing the trip from home was done by Email and Romeo patiently answered all our questions. Each time he wrote back on the same day. That was superb.
(Btw.: He asked us to pay 200 $ in advance as a reservation fee and gave us the option to either do it by credit card or "Swift"-transaction, I chose the latter and had to pay lots of fees to the bank, so if you are asked, better choose credit card.)
We arrived in Arusha one day before going on Safari and in our trip-package pick up from airport and drop off were included, so there were two guys waiting with a sign written with our names on it at the airport. Perfect. Next day we got up very excited, at 8:00 a.m. our guide was expected to meet us at our hostel, he already showed up at 7:30 and waited patiently for us to complete our breakfast. On the next days we visited Arusha NP, Tarangire NP, Lake Maniara NP, Ngoro-Ngoro Crater, Serengeti NP and Lake Natron, of which Tarangire and Serengeti were the total highlights.
We had a guide and a cook on our trip and used a Toyota Land Cruiser (pretty much every tour organizer does so) to get around. Beforehand we aked for Amos as a guide, as we had read some reviews talking about him and we really got him. Unfortunate he had to leave after the third day so we got Hamisi as our second guide. Both were spectacular guides with good humor and huge knowledge of all wildlife in the parks. Our cook was Dogo, who cooked great dinners every night (don't forget to mention any kind of diet you prefer in advance so that they can prepare). We felt totally comfortable all the time with our team. The first 3 nights we stayed at the great "Fanaka" camping site, the best spot during the trip. As we had booked a budget camping tour the other camping sites were real budget sites, a little bit overcrowded and sanitaries were not that much cleaned. Next time I would prefer to spend a little bit more for better camping sites, but everyone has to decide on his own.
Our guides made this a totally awesome experience and we saw every animal we wanted to see. I totally recommend to take a trip with Safari Multiways!
In the end, 3 days after returning to Arusha we got the airport drop off and left. Great experience!

awesome, enriching experience
5/5

The full experience was great and went above our expectations. Romeo (the manager) was very helpful when organizing everything and responded all our e-mails in a timely manner.
We had Amos as our guide and he was extremely professional. We even saw a caracal (it is a very hard to spot wild cat, so rare that another group was next to us but their guide didn't even know the animal and they just moved on not being to interested). I would totally recommend visiting the bushmen and the blacksmith tribes. Both experiences were really culturally enriching, especially with the blacksmith tribe.

We have seen all the animals we were hoping to see when we left home with only one exception, the rhino, despite all the efforts the guide has made in order to make it possible. Another thing that we appreciated was how he was able to read animal's behavior: several times it happened to have other safari cars around us and if they were already there by the time we arrived in that spot that means they had a better viewpoint. That changed fast because our guide was clever enough to anticipate what the lion/leopard will do in order to be ahead of them and enjoy watching them in their natural habitat.
In the end of the trip, we had one night at lake Natron which I can't say was a must do. As an advice for other tourists I would suggest to spend more time in Serengeti and skip Lake Natron (especially if you get to see Lake Easy before, both are very similar and people at lake Natron were only trying to get more money out of your pockets), even if this means spending more hours on the road for the returning to Arusha.
Also, not to forget mentioning the food which was tasty and according to our preferences.

I would recommend this trip to anyone who is a nature/animal lover and wants some cultural experience as well.

Thank you,
Ionut Cirlan

Excellent service, flexible, and honestly priced
5/5

Safari was tailored to our needs, with help from Romeo right from the start. He and his team were very quick and consisely informative with all communications. Ask and you'll receive.
The pricing was honest and fair, amazing given it's so often hard to come by in Tanzania.
Amos was a brilliant guide, he accomadated all our needs.
Ok our truck looked a bit tattier, but honestly they're all the same really, everybody does the same stuff. Unless you think it's worth paying $5000 extra simply for a leather lined seat. They've all got the same: power outlets, seat layout, and fridge in the back - don't be fooled that these are luxuries with those pricey companies.
Look no further this company was great.

Fantastic Initiation into the wild world of Tanzania
5/5

This was our first African safari and Edward made sure that it was hell of an experience. We went through a lot of safari companies and zeroed down on safari multiways primarily because it was very easy to communicate our needs and get an immediate response from them and also the assurance of so many good reviews.
Me and my wife opted for the private safari (Arusha -> Tarangire -> Manyara -> serengeti -> Ngorongoro -> Arusha) and hoped to catch the big 5, and boy did we have a feast.
our guide Amos was adept at spotting animals which others missed and always got us the best viewing position ahead of everybody. very knowledgeable guy when it came to explaining the animal behaviour. we were lucky to have him as our guide.
we opted for the midrange accomodation and all of them were perfect for a couple. our favorite was the serengeti heritage tented camp, we were literally blown away with the perfection they achieved at such a remote location. The staff were always glad to help and had a very happy demeanor.
The 4x4 jeep provided to us had charging points to help us revive the drained out batteries and a stock of refrigerated water bottles at our disposal.
The payment options are quite flexible. you can pay online using credit cards (additional 5% fee) or you can pay by cash once you reach their office. Having a wad of USD really helps. Its accepted all over and makes it easy to get things done.
We were given a complimentary pickup and drop facility which was really helpful since we had a lot of time to kill on the last day and our driver took us around the town of arusha before dropping us at the airport
overall an exceptional trip arranged by Romeo/Edward/Amos/pius, special mention for amos for not only showing us the big 5 but also for making it a fun trip. We would definitely come back and explore more of tanzania with safari multiways,
keep it up guys!! cheers
