Personal, well-organised and genuinely caring from start to finish.
We had a fantastic trip through Tanzania with Lazy Lions. The itinerary was very well planned, with highlights including Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.
Our guide Issah was excellent: knowledgeable, calm, friendly and always made us feel safe. A special mention also goes to Koen, who is clearly one of the driving forces behind Lazy Lions and an important part of the overall experience. His personal involvement, regular contact and willingness to help whenever needed made the trip feel genuinely well cared for from start to finish.
What stood out most was the combination of good organisation and a very personal approach. The trip never felt like a standard package holiday, but like a journey that had been carefully put together for us.
We look back on an unforgettable experience and would definitely recommend Lazy Lions to anyone looking for a personal and well-organised safari in Tanzania.

Perfect trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar
In the run-up to our trip, we had frequent contact with Koen from Lazy Lion safaris. He always reacted very quickly and really thought along. The whole trip was perfectly organized. All beautiful accommodations in beautiful places. Our great driver/guide Elisante made our safari unforgettable with all his knowledge and brought us safely to the most beautiful places. Despite the rise in petrol prices, we did not had to pay anything extra at all. If you have plans to go to Tanzania, don't hesitate and choose Lazy Lion safaris instead of one of the big organizations.

Amazing organisation
We had Lazy Lion Safaris organise our trip, and we couldn’t be happier with the result!
You simply share your budget and wishes, and Koen creates a completely personalised itinerary that suits you perfectly. And if you want to make changes along the way, that’s never a problem. If something unexpected happens, Koen is always there to make sure everything is taken care of.
One thing we really appreciated is that once the price is agreed upon, it stays the same. No unexpected surcharges due to rising fuel prices or other additional costs, which can happen with some other companies.
Thanks to Lazy Lion Safaris, we enjoyed three incredible and, most importantly, completely worry-free weeks in Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything was organised down to the smallest detail, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy every moment of our journey.

Our safari with Lazy Lion Safaris was truly an unforgettable experience. From the first contact to the end of the trip, everything was arranged perfectly. Communication went smoothly, agreements were honored, and we felt welcome and well cared for throughout the entire journey.
Together with our guide, we visited beautiful parks, including the Serengeti, Tarangire, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Thanks to his knowledge, enthusiasm, and keen eyes, we saw an incredible number of animals, including the entire Big Five. He also took ample time to explain the nature, the animals, and Tanzanian culture.
The accommodations were carefully chosen, clean, and comfortable, and the balance between adventure and relaxation was perfect. What made this safari extra special was the personal approach. We didn't feel like tourists, but guests who got to enjoy beautiful Tanzania.

An unforgettable Tanzania Experience
Our trip to Tanzania in November 2025 was simply exceptional, and a huge part of that was thanks to Koen and the team at Lazy Lion Safaris.
From the very first contact, everything was perfectly organised and prepared down to the smallest detail. The entire itinerary was carefully planned in advance, giving us complete peace of mind before departure. At the same time, there was enough flexibility to make adjustments along the way whenever needed. The lodges selected for us were outstanding: comfortable, safe, beautifully located, and each with its own unique charm. It was clear that every accommodation had been chosen with great care and experience.

Curated Safari Experience in Tanzania
I completed four safaris with Lazy Lion Safari during my stay in northern Tanzania. As I was working in Arusha, Koen took the time to put together a weekend schedule that allowed me to visit each of the major safari areas: Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Koen drew on his many years of experience organizing safaris in Tanzania to explain the unique attributes of each area and ensure I would have the best possible experience in each park. The drivers on my three weekend safaris were excellent, with an incredible depth of knowledge not only about the animals and birds native to each park, but also the history of the local areas and the people who live there.
The accommodation was also very well chosen. Koen has clearly built relationships with lodges he knows and has worked with previously, and each provided a comfortable place to relax, with swimming pools and restaurants on site after a day out in the vehicle.
I have so many great memories of my safaris with Lazy Lion, but some highlights include the walking safari to the giraffe in Arusha National Park, the solitude of Lake Manyara National Park, being alone amongst a herd of elephants in the trees, and seeing the ostriches of Tarangire National Park.
The best example of Koen's carefully curated approach was our visit to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. He offered two alternatives for our arrival time: a regular tourist safari start or an earlier departure that would allow us to be among the first entrants to the park. We chose the earlier option, and entering the crater at sunrise, as the crater bowl and its wildlife opened up before us, was absolutely breathtaking.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lazy Lion Safari to anyone looking for a personalized safari experience in Tanzania. Koen takes the time to listen, understand what you would like to see and draw on his many years of experience to shape and build a custom experience around your interests.
