Disappointment
1/5

We booked a six-day safari for a family of seven with Bobby Camping based on excellent reviews and what appeared to be strong personal communication. I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience so that future travelers can make a more informed decision.
The vehicle provided was in very poor condition — approximately 25 years old (the last of its model series was manufactured in 2007). It was one of the oldest safari vehicles we encountered during our entire trip. The suspension was terrible, making every bump on the rough roads extremely uncomfortable. The rear row was so cramped that adults could not even sit properly with both legs down. There was no air conditioning, which was a major issue in the dusty Serengeti environment. With windows closed to keep out the dust, we were constantly soaked in sweat. Rust from the roof continuously fell onto our heads throughout the journey.
At one point, part of the vehicle’s bodywork broke off and fell onto the road. The driver had to stop and reattach it on the roof. When we contacted Bobby immediately upon seeing the vehicle, he assured us that all his vehicles were in similar condition. We later had the chance to compare it with another safari vehicle on the same route (used for our balloon safari) and the difference in quality and comfort was striking.
While the driver was adequate, he was nothing more than that. However, the most disappointing part of the entire experience occurred on our return to Zanzibar. After the driver dropped us at Arusha Airport and left, we discovered that our Flightlink flight had been transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport and had already departed an hour earlier. All other flights to Zanzibar that day were full. The airline staff showed us an email they had sent to Bobby the previous day informing him of the schedule change — yet no one had notified us.
After an hour of stressful negotiations, we were eventually transferred to the correct airport and flew out in the evening. As a result, the hotel transfer we had paid for was missed entirely. Instead of arriving at our hotel around 3:00 PM, we reached it at 11:00 PM. We had also planned a special anniversary celebration at the hotel that evening, which was completely ruined along with our overall mood.
This experience was far below the standards we expected for a premium safari booking. We received no apology from Bobby or his team for any of the issues. While I dislike leaving negative feedback, this trip fell so short of expectations that I believe it is important to warn others.

Amazing experience ❤️❤️❤️

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a three-day safari through some of Tanzania's most breathtaking national parks, and I can't speak highly enough of my experience, particularly thanks to our exceptional guide, Steven.
Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park
Our journey began at Lake Manyara National Park, where we were immediately captivated by the stunning views and diverse wildlife. Steven's knowledge of the park was impressive; he could identify various animal species and their behaviors effortlessly. We witnessed incredible sights, including herds of elephants and flocks of flamingos. Steven's enthusiasm and passion for wildlife made the experience all the more enriching.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
The second day took us to the iconic Serengeti. The vast plains were filled with an array of animals, from lions lounging in the shade to cheetahs sprinting across the grasslands. Steven's expertise shone through as he navigated the park, ensuring we caught every glimpse of the famous Big Five. His commitment to responsible wildlife viewing was commendable, as he emphasized the importance of respecting the animals and their habitat.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
On our final day, we explored the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The unique ecosystem within the crater provided us with an unforgettable experience, including close encounters with rhinoceroses and nourishing insights into the Maasai culture. Steven's storytelling brought the history and significance of the area to life, making it an educational adventure.
Overall, Steven's professionalism, coupled with his contagious enthusiasm for the natural world, made this safari a truly unforgettable experience. His ability to spot wildlife and share fascinating facts significantly enhanced our trip. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a memorable safari adventure.

We spent five truly amazing days with Omari frim Bobby Camping , and we could not have asked for a better guide. He exceeded all our expectations. A close family friend had recommended Bobby Camping to us, and now we completely understand why.
With more than 25 years of experience, Omari has incredible knowledge of the park. He knows exactly where to go and has eyes like no other, he spots animals that most people would easily miss. Thanks to him, we were almost always in the best possible position for sightings, often experiencing incredible moments that others could only hear about later on the radio.
Omari was also always happy to share his knowledge. He explained the animals’ behaviour, the ecosystem, and the landscape in a very engaging way, which made the experience even more special.
During our safari we were lucky enough to see baby elephants, baby giraffes, baby lions, baby zebras, baby wildebeest, and even a baby cheetah. Over the five days we saw 34 lions in total, as well as thousands of zebras and wildebeest migrating across the plains.
Omari made us feel safe, relaxed, and happy throughout the entire trip. No matter how long the day was, even after driving more than eight hours he was always cheerful, patient, and enthusiastic.
The entire Bobby Camping team was also incredibly welcoming and professional. They organized our transport from the airport to our hotel and arranged a magical day in Arusha, which was the perfect way to start our adventure.
It was truly an unforgettable experience, and we would highly recommend both Omari and Bobby Camp to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania.

Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro with friends
5/5

Our 8-day safari was perfectly organized from the first day to the last. Two excellent drivers traveled with us, Gotfried and Stefano, both very experienced and with extensive knowledge of the national parks and the animals living in them. We had a lot of fun together. Our cooks prepared excellent meals for us and took great care of both our stomachs and our tents. I highly recommend Bobby Camping as a partner for discovering Tanzania.

I highly recommend Bobycamping. Both drivers who spent six days with us on safari were professionals. Excellent drivers, experienced guides, and nice people. The team of cooks was also excellent. The food was always tasty, varied, and plentiful. We all really enjoyed the trip. And the company boss helped me a lot when I traveled alone to another city after the safari. You can rely on them.

First Safari - fantastic tour with very knowledgeable driver!
5/5

We were recommended BobbyCamping by a friend. For safari novices like us it couldn’t have been a better option (although I’m sure they can also serve the most experienced!) - Murtaza put our tour together based on our wishes and gave us a fair deal; especially for a private safari!

Our driver/guide Mr Godfrey is very experienced with deep knowledge of the parks. He perfectly knew the best routes and spots in the parks, so that we saw as many and diverse groups of animals as possible. He was also knowledgeable about the animals, conservation areas and national parks. The (budget) camping area was well positioned outside the parks making for a great hub - our chef was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners!

Our route:
- Tarangire (highlights: waterholes with groups of animals; elephant crossing right in front of us)
- Ngorongoro (highlights: amazing environment and animals all around)
- Lake Manyara (highlights: a lion sleeping on the road and a pride right next to it at a river)

PS - side story
When our guide/driver Mr Godfrey picked us up, our safari adventure started in an unsettling situation due to the national elections and internet shutdown; roads to Arusha were obstructed by protesters and local gangs - with limited communications possibilities, both Godfrey and Murtaza helped us stay calm and safe, lent advice, and did everything possible to avoid incidents and take us to our next destinations. They stayed in constant contact and shared updates on the situation on the roads with us.

Would always recommend!
