Wow, so many elephants, this is truly prime elephant country, especially when you look at the horizon and see a herd of over two hundred elephants in the distance! We also saw two leopards, one with a kill in a tree, and our camp (Taragire Safari Lodge) is totally unfenced so lots of gazelles wandering around. However the landscape was a bit dry and not that pretty, and maybe because it was at the end of our safari but we didn't see many "new" animals except for dik dik of which there were quite a few. However it's a great park and probably best visited at the start of a safari, not the end.

There are huge baobab trees at Tarangire! We got really close to some marabu storks. Saw a lioness hunt, but she was too far away.

Fantastic Elephant concentration and beautiful baobab trees. Definitely recommended before going to Ngorongoro or Serengeti

Tarangire is more famous for elephants. Wild cats are not the easiest to spot here.

This park is definitely my favourite out of Arusha and Manyara. The landscapes are beautifully spotted with Baobobs and the herds of elephants are truly breathtaking.

Famous for the Baobab trees and also a great number of elephants during the dry season, everything here happens around the Tarangiry river. Close to Arusha gives easy acces and good for family's with children.

Best place for large herds of Elephants in Africa. If you can stand tzetze flies you will love the place.

In one day we managed to see four out of the big five and a lot of other animals as well. The scenery is quite good and due to the fact that there are a lot of hills you can easily get a good view over the savannah.

Away from maddening crowd. The hospitality at Mawe Ninga Camp (run by some local group) was superb. Not very expensive.
