The wildebeest calving season in Tanzania usually runs from late January through early March, often peaking in February. The best place for calving is Ndutu (in the southern part of the Serengeti / Ngorongoro Conservation Area). Staying 2 to 3 nights in Ndutu gives you the best chances. You’ll experience beautiful live-action newborns, predators (lions, hyenas, cheetahs), lush plains, and good photographic opportunities.
