The Makgadikgadi Pans, a salt pan in Botswana, is one of the largest salt flats in the world and home to abundant wildlife and Africa's secret migration of zebras and wildebeest. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve covers a large section of Central Botswana. Its harsh, sprawling terrain is dominated by savannah grasslands, home to wildlife such as giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards. There are several fossilized rivers.
