The Machame Route up Mount Kilimanjaro is the second most popular climbing route and one of the most scenic routes up the mountain. Climbers on this route sleep in tents and meals are served in dinner tents. Six days on the mountain gives climbers enough time to acclimatize and increase their chances of success. Machame is easier for physically fit people with some hiking experience.
