The Machame Route is the longest and most scenic path up Kilimanjaro, covering about 68 km from Machame Gate. Known as the “Whiskey Route,” it offers excellent acclimatization through diverse vegetation zones—from rainforest to alpine desert. Popular with experienced climbers, it’s challenging but rewards trekkers with stunning views like the Shira Plateau and glaciers, making it a memorable and rewarding climb.
