Day 2

Uganda is a paradise for primate lovers, and the golden monkey is a must-see species. With their stunning golden fur, these monkeys are found only in Mgahinga National Park, part of the Virunga Mountains.

This morning, we’ll drive about 45 minutes to the Mgahinga ranger post. There, you’ll receive a briefing before setting off with a ranger-guide into the forest to encounter the golden monkeys. You’ll spend an hour observing these playful and enchanting primates—an experience so captivating, time will fly by.

After the trek, we’ll continue by vehicle to our accommodation on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, ready for gorilla trekking the following day.

Day 3

After breakfast, head to the ranger post where a briefing from your ranger-guide will cover the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Then, embark on your adventure into the forest to seek out these magnificent primates. The rainforest is breathtaking, with steep, densely forested terrain interlaced with numerous animal trails that provide access for visitors. Trekking time varies between 4 to 8 hours depending on the movements of the gorilla group.

Once the gorillas are located, you’ll have a full hour to observe and interact with these gentle, endangered giants—an experience that is truly unforgettable. After the trek, return to the lodge to rest and recover from the day’s adventure.

(Optional, extra cost): If you finish early and still have energy, your guide can arrange a community visit or a short nature walk to further explore the surroundings.

Start your day early with breakfast before transferring to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a thrilling game drive in search of these magnificent predators. While sightings are not guaranteed, there is a 60–70% chance of spotting them—often a breathtaking experience when they are perched in the trees.

After the game drive, exit Ishasha and continue to your accommodation in the northern sector of the park. Check in and relax for the evening.

Optional: For those interested, a late afternoon or evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains can be arranged to spot more wildlife and enjoy the stunning savannah scenery.

Start your day early with breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Keep an eye out for Cape buffalo, elephants, lions, and elusive leopards, among other wildlife. Return to your accommodation for rest and lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic 2-hour boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, which links Lakes George and Edward. Watch in awe as hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and other wildlife congregate along the shores, while numerous bird species fill the skies.

Optional: After the boat trip, you may either return to the lodge to relax or take a brief late afternoon game drive before heading back.

Accompanied by an experienced ranger-guide, you will trek through the lush rainforest in search of these fascinating primates, observing their playful behaviors and social interactions in their natural habitat.

This day is dedicated to an immersive wildlife experience in Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to a wide array of animals including buffaloes, Jackson hartebeests, elephants, lions, giraffes, leopards, hyenas, and more. These magnificent creatures roam the savannah grasslands, either grazing or hunting, making the landscape spectacular for game drives.

Optional: To break up the day, we can stop at Red Chilli Rest Camp for a hot lunch before continuing the second leg of your game drive. After a rewarding day of wildlife encounters, return to your lodge to freshen up and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay.

(Extra cost $30 pp): For those interested, an 11 AM boat trip along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls can be arranged, with an optional short hike ($15 pp) to the top of the falls for stunning panoramic views.
