Day 1

Nairobi to Mara - Arrival and Introduction to the Savanna

Nairobi to Mara - Arrival and Introduction to the Savanna

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle. Begin the scenic drive westward, covering approximately 225 km in 5-6 hours. En route, make a mid-morning stopover (around 10:00 AM) at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking panoramic views of the escarpment, stretching volcanic landscapes, and photo opportunities.

Continue driving through the rural Kenyan countryside, passing Narok town for a brief optional stop to browse local markets or grab souvenirs. Arrive at your Masai Trails, a mid-range tented camp, for check-in, followed by a welcome lunch featuring fresh Kenyan cuisine.

After a brief rest, embark on your first game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, exploring the open grasslands for sightings of lions, elephants, and zebras. Return to the lodge as the sun sets.

Dinner at 7:00 PM with a campfire briefing on the next day's activities.

Day 2

Full Day Maasai Mara Drive

Full Day Maasai Mara Drive

Have an early morning hearty breakfast at the camp and head out for a full day game drive starting in the morning to try to catch predators in action and the sunrise over the plains. Enjoy the savannah grassland views as you search for the big five, pass by the croc-infested Mara River, and catch the over 400 species of birds located in this vast, iconic wilderness. Enjoy your picnic lunch as zebras and giraffes stare and run by.

Optional (preferably in the morning or evening): Hot-air balloon safari (extra cost) for aerial views of the wildlife.
After a packed day, return to the camp for relaxation and enjoy your dinner.

Day 3

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will head to the Maasai Village and depart for Nakuru. Here you will experience the Maasai culture, an indigenous Kenyan community. You will dance to their traditional songs and participate in crafting some of their traditional ornaments, which you can take home as souvenirs. We will then head to Lake Nakuru National Park, a 4-5 hour drive (about 220 km). No major stopovers, but a brief roadside break for photos of changing landscapes.

We will arrive at Egret Savanna, a mid-range tented camp, where you will check in and grab a hot lunch.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a game drive viewing the pink flamingos, the endangered black and white rhinos, giraffes and gazelles. We will also visit the Baboon Cliff for stunning overlooks.

We will return to the camp for dinner and a bonfire as we share stories and network.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate

You will start with an early morning breakfast and then check out as we depart for Lake Naivasha, a short 2-hour drive. We will first arrive and check in at the luxurious Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club as we head for a 20-minute boat ride to Crescent Island. Come into proximity with hippos as we cross the lake and then enjoy a 2-hour guided walk on Crescent Island, where you will spot Thompson's gazelles, Masai giraffes, impalas, bat-eared foxes, bushbuck, and the cape buffalo. After this exhilarating experience, we will cross over to Hell's Gate for a guided tour through the gorges, spotting zebras and geothermal features.

We will then return to Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club for our dinner and relaxation after a packed day.

Start the day with a leisurely breakfast at 7:30 AM, followed by a short walking safari along the lake before we depart for Nairobi. We will have possible stopovers at roadside curio shops for last-minute souvenirs. We expect to get to Nairobi by midday or early afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport.
