Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Your journey begins with a 6:30 am departure from Nairobi, driving north for approximately 2.5 hours to reach Nanyuki town by 9:00 am. Along the way, you will make a memorable stop at the Equator crossing—an iconic landmark marking the imaginary line that divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. This is a perfect spot to take photos and capture the moment of standing on both sides of the globe at once. On clear days, you may also be rewarded with breathtaking views of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak, rising majestically above the horizon.

After this experience, continue your drive toward Samburu, arriving in time for check-in and lunch at your lodge or camp. Take some time to relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings before heading out on an exciting afternoon game drive in the Samburu National Reserve.

You will also witness the world’s last three remaining Northern White Rhinos roaming freely within their protected enclosure—an extraordinary and rare conservation experience.
