Day 2
Jinka – Mago National Park – Mursi Tribe – Turmi

After breakfast, we drive into Mago National Park, home to diverse wildlife and one of the Omo Valley’s most iconic communities—the Mursi tribe. The Mursi women are renowned for their distinctive custom of wearing lip plates, a unique cultural expression that fascinates many visitors. This is often a highlight for our guests, so be well-rested and ready for a truly memorable encounter.
Following the visit, we return for lunch before continuing our journey toward Turmi, the vibrant cultural hub of the Hamer people. En route, we will stop to meet the Bena tribe, known for their decorative body painting and the children’s playful stick-walking traditions. By evening, we arrive in Turmi, where you will settle in for overnight at a lodge in Turmi.

Day 3
Turmi – Omorate (Dassanech Tribe) – Turmi

After breakfast, we set out on an excursion southward to Omorate, near the Kenyan border, to meet the Dassanech tribe. Known for their distinctive hairstyles and unique styles of dress, the Dassanech stand out from other Omo Valley tribes. To reach their villages, we will cross the Omo River in a traditional wooden canoe—an adventurous and memorable experience for many travelers.
After spending time learning about their way of life and traditions, we return to Turmi in the afternoon. Enjoy the evening at leisure and prepare for another cultural highlight of the journey. Overnight in Turmi.

Begin the day with an early drive from Turmi towards the South Sudan border to visit the Nyangatom (Gnangatom) tribe. On the way, you will cross the Omo River on its largest bridge—a striking sight in itself. The Nyangatom people are known for their distinctive traditions, colorful beadwork, and unique styles of dress, setting them apart from other Omo Valley tribes. After spending time learning about their culture and way of life, return to Turmi. In the afternoon, continue the journey to Jinka Airport for your domestic flight back to Addis Ababa, where this unforgettable cultural adventure comes to an end.
