Standing at an elevation of 3,926 meters, you can gaze West along the ridge toward Sankaber and Geech, and Southeast across a steep gorge toward tomorrow's ridge hike that leads to Inatye and Cheneck Camp. The vistas from this point are considered some of the finest in the Simien Mountains, though the sheer drop is quite intimidating. After exploring Imet Gogo, you’ll make your way back to camp through Siha Gorge for lunch. Geech – Innatye - Chenek
Today marks the longest and arguably the most breathtaking journey along the ridge for much of its distance. After enjoying breakfast, you will return along the trail towards Imet Gogo, then take a southeast turn towards Inatye. This route descends into a forest filled with Giant Hazel trees before continuing along the ridge across open grasslands. The ascent to Inatye, which stands at 4,070 meters, offers spectacular views as a reward. Inatye translates to “mamma mia,” and the alarming vertical drop here certainly justifies this name! Following a picnic lunch, the trail primarily descends through open grassland and giant lobelia on the way to Chenek, with several breathtaking viewpoints en route. The Chenek camp is excellent for wildlife sightings, where Gelada Baboons and Wallia Ibex are frequently seen.
