Fly Gondar – Debark – Sankaber

Take morning flight to gondar, transportation will pick you up from your lodging in Gonder for a two and a half hour ride to Debark in a 4x4 vehicle. The route consists of a rough and dusty road. Once you reach Debark, you will be dropped off at the first camp in Sankaber to enjoy a three-hour acclimatization hike at a relaxed pace. Stunning views will accompany you along the ridge. During your ascent to Sankaber, you will be greeted each day of this hike with fresh coffee, tea, and snacks.

Sankaber – Geech Camp, Walking 7-8hrs / 15km

Fulfilling breakfast, the foothills, situated 800m below, await. The initial two hours of your journey take you through an area adorned with low bushes including Giant Heather, soda apple, Abyssinian rose, St John's Wort, and Globe thistle. The standout feature the trek from Sankaber to Geech is the magnificent Genbar Falls, which cascades down a sheer 500m drop. you can observe falcons, augur buzzards, and lammergeier vultures gracefully gliding on the warm air currents below. After leaving Genbar Falls, for lunch at a more tranquil waterfall that is less daunting. You might catch sight of klipspringers and bush bucks along the steep, rocky slopes, while groups of Gelada Baboons wander through the arid fields foraging for roots. Just before arriving at the Geech campsite, there is a delightful opportunity to visit a traditional village house for a taste of home-roasted coffee and injurra. Geech Camp is situated on a lush plateau, offering spectacular views of the sunset. (B, L, D).

Geech – Imet Gogo -Gondar-Fly Addis

Our journey takes us from Geech to the Imet Gogo promontory, where one of the most breathtaking vistas in the entire mountain range awaits. Today offers an excellent opportunity to observe the incredible Lammergeier vultures. After enjoying Imet Gogo, we will return on foot to the road close to a village known as Ambaras, where we will meet the vehicle for our journey back to Gondar. This trek is expected to take around 4 to 5 hours.
