After an early breakfast, you’ll transfer to Entebbe Airport for a scenic scheduled flight to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival at Pakuba or Bugungu Airstrip, a safari guide will meet you for a transfer to your luxury lodge located near the Nile River. After lunch and some time to settle in, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive across the savannah plains of the northern sector of the park. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for sundowners and dinner under the stars.

Game Drive and Nile River Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive for the best chance to see predators and other large mammals while the air is still cool. Return to the lodge for breakfast and a bit of relaxation before enjoying a hot lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the majestic Murchison Falls. Along the way, watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants at the water’s edge, and an incredible variety of birdlife. Optionally, you may hike up to the top of the falls for panoramic views. You’ll return to your lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to the airstrip for your flight to Kihihi or Kisoro, near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic drive through the hills and villages of southwestern Uganda en route to your luxury lodge on the edge of the forest. This afternoon is at your leisure to relax, enjoy a massage, or take a short-guided walk in the lodge surroundings. With views of the misty forest and sounds of exotic birdlife, this is the perfect setting to rest before tomorrow’s unforgettable trek.

Today you will experience one of the greatest wildlife encounters on earth—mountain gorilla trekking. After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing, then set off into the dense jungle with expert guides and trackers. Trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but once found, you’ll spend a magical hour observing a habituated family as they go about their daily routines. After the trek, return to the lodge to rest and reflect. Enjoy a warm shower, a hearty meal, and a peaceful evening in the forest.
