Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, participants are warmly welcomed and transferred to their accommodation in either Entebbe or Kampala, depending on arrival time. After check-in and some time to rest from the journey, the group will visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), an accredited conservation and education facility that houses a wide variety of Uganda’s native wildlife. Here, students will receive an introductory talk on Uganda’s ecosystems, endangered species, and conservation efforts. In the evening, a group orientation session will take place, introducing participants to the week’s itinerary, safety protocols, Ugandan culture and customs, and basic language tips. Dinner will feature local Ugandan cuisine to begin immersing the group in the country’s rich culinary culture.

Day 2

The day begins with breakfast followed by a full-day educational tour of Uganda’s vibrant capital city, Kampala. The group will start at the Uganda Museum, where they will explore exhibits on Ugandan history, tribal heritage, paleontology, and musical instruments. Next, they will visit a cultural center or craft market to learn about the country’s many ethnic groups and artistic traditions. Midday, participants will engage in a structured visit to a local school, nonprofit, or youth development organization. This will allow for student-to-student interaction, cross-cultural dialogue, and insight into Uganda’s education system. In the afternoon, the group will visit a historical or religious site such as the Kasubi Tombs or Namirembe Cathedral, followed by a cultural workshop in traditional dance or drumming. The evening will end with a reflective group discussion about urban life, education challenges, and cultural diversity in Uganda.

Day 3

Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, the group embarks on a scenic drive toward western Uganda, with the destination depending on the focus of the tour—either Kibale Forest region or the Fort Portal area. Upon arrival in a rural village near Fort Portal, participants will be welcomed by a host community and begin a cultural immersion experience. The afternoon is spent engaging in daily village life: helping in gardens, learning local cooking techniques, listening to community elders share stories, and participating in artisan crafts such as basket weaving or bark cloth making. The evening offers a traditional meal and optional storytelling or dance around a campfire. Overnight in basic, but safe and comfortable rural accommodations, fostering appreciation for rural Ugandan life.
