Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, you will be greeted and taken to your hotel. You will check in at the Kempinski Hotel. Nairobi, the busy capital of Kenya, is the starting point for your safari. Depending on your arrival time, you may get the chance to visit some of Nairobi's key attractions. These include the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can see the care given to orphaned elephants and rhinos, helping them eventually return to the wild. Another option is the Giraffe Centre, which provides an interactive experience with endangered Rothschild giraffes. You can feed the giraffes from a raised platform and learn about conservation efforts firsthand. These experiences give you a great introduction to Kenya's dedication to wildlife protection and create lasting memories before your safari adventure begins.

Day 2
Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic 5–6-hour drive to the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey passes through the stunning vistas of the Great Rift Valley, and after stopping for a while at the Rift Valley Viewpoint. After arriving at your lodge close to one of the entrances of the reserve, you will check into Talek Bush Camp and have lunch. Afternoon drive out on your inaugural thrilling game drive in the Maasai Mara, which has a high concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo).

Day 3

Take an entire day to cross the vast grasslands of the Maasai Mara. A morning game drive is compulsory since predators are active during the cooler hours. Enjoy a picnic breakfast and lunch from your lodge in order to maximize your park time and not have to pay re-entry fees. Maasai Mara is famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal, normally July to September), when millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate over the Mara River. In the afternoon, one can take a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village where you can learn about their way of life and traditions.

Day 4
Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara and drive approximately 4-5 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park.
This park, situated in the Great Rift Valley, is famous for its flamingos and abundant birdlife, though flamingo numbers are influenced by environmental factors. It is also a major sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos and is an excellent location for viewing rhinos. Arrive and check-in at Lake Nakuru lodge, lunch, then go for an afternoon game drive to observe rhinos, lions, and other bird species.

Start your day with a final morning game drive around Lake Nakuru, and then head to the Baboon Cliff Viewpoint for panoramic views. Drive on to Lake Naivasha, approximately a 2-hour drive. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake renowned for hippos and abundant birdlife. Embark on a boat safari across the lake and get up close to hippos and other birdlife. Or visit Hell's Gate National Park, close by, one of Kenya's only national parks where you can go for a walking or bike safari along strange geological formations.

Today is a longer drive of about 6 hours to Amboseli National Park, going through Nairobi. Amboseli is famous for its massive herds of elephants and the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Upon arrival, check-in at AA lodge. Afternoon is spent on a game drive, concentrating on elephant sightings and taking amazing photographs with Kilimanjaro in the background (subject to weather conditions).

Spend an entire day at Amboseli National Park. Take an early morning game drive to spot predators and see elephants migrating to and from the swamps. Amboseli's unique ecosystem, funded by underground springs from Kilimanjaro, supports a heavy concentration of animals. You can also take a trip to Observation Hill to see a bird's eye view of the park. The park offers stunning views of lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and antelopes of all types.

Amboseli to Nairobi
Take a final early morning game drive in Amboseli. Return to Nairobi for breakfast and it's approximately 4-5 hours. Depending on what time your flight is, you might have time to do some last-minute souvenir shopping or a local market visit in Nairobi. You will then be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to depart, which concludes your Mid-range Kenyan safari adventure.
