Nairobi- Samburu National Reserve
Early morning pick up from Airport or from your city hotel and start your 6 hours drive past the Equator and onto the northern frontier of Samburu national reserve. Samburu is home to a rarer group of animals known as the Samburu Special Five — a collection of species found almost nowhere else in the country.
1. Grevy’s Zebra – With narrower stripes and a white belly, this endangered zebra species is found mainly in northern Kenya and Ethiopia.
2. Reticulated Giraffe – Known for its perfectly outlined, net-like patterns, the reticulated giraffe is one of Africa’s most striking creatures.
3. Somali Ostrich – Larger than its common counterpart, the Somali ostrich has distinct blue legs and neck, adapted to arid conditions.
4. Gerenuk – Nicknamed the “giraffe gazelle,” this long-necked antelope stands on its hind legs to browse for leaves.
5. Beisa Oryx – A desert antelope with sharp, straight horns and light tan coat that blends beautifully with Samburu’s dry landscapes.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy: A Sanctuary of Hope for Wildlife and People
Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in Kenya, is globally renowned as the home of the last two northern white rhinos—Najin and her daughter Fatu—the final hope for a species on the brink of extinction. Tourists from around the world visit to witness this rare and moving sight.
Beyond the rhinos, Ol Pejeta is East and Central Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary, with a thriving population of 140 individuals. The conservancy is also a haven for endangered species like the African wild dog, Jackson’s hartebeest, Grévy’s zebra, cheetah, and bat-eared fox, alongside all members of the iconic Big Five, Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a refuge for orphaned or abused chimpanzees—though not native to Kenya, they’ve found safety and care here.
