Day 1

Your Arusha National Park adventure begins with a 7:30 AM pickup for a short 45-minute drive northeast through coffee and banana plantations, arriving at Ngongongare Gate around 8:15 AM. The park features three main areas: Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes, and Mount Meru (4,566 m), Tanzania’s second-highest peak. Start at the Ngurdoto Crater viewpoint for views of buffaloes, warthogs, and antelopes grazing below.
A highlight here is the guided walking safari—accompanied by an armed ranger, walk among giraffes, zebras, and waterbucks while learning about animal tracks and plants. The 30-45 hour walk can be tailored to your pace, or you may opt for a full game drive through diverse landscapes. Enjoy lunch at Tululusia viewpoint, then spend the afternoon canoeing on Small Momella Lake (optional) or Guided Walking Safari to the waterfalls {Optional} or continuing your game drive before returning to Arusha.
