Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Arusha City, located in the northern highlands of Tanzania beneath the twin peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, is the safari capital of the country. Guests embarking on the popular northern safari circuit stop here to prepare for their journeys into the African bush. Established by the Germans as a center for colonial administration in the early 20th century, Arusha is now one of the country’s most prosperous towns and a major hub for Tanzanian diplomacy and international relations, earning it the nickname “the Geneva of Africa.” Your overnight stay will be at the hotel.

After eating breakfast at the lodge, you will drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, with a picnic lunch en route. Upon arrival, you will enjoy afternoon game drive.
Tarangire National Park is named after the river that runs through it and is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular between the June-October dry season. This is the best time for wildlife viewing and walking, as thousands of animals migrate from the dry Masai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. The park also has the largest elephant population of any park in the northern circuit and is home to over 550 bird species. In the evening, you will drive to Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, you will depart with picnic lunch boxes in hand for the Ngorongoro Crater, located about 190 km west of Arusha between Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks and covering an area of over 8,000 sq. km. At 2,286 meters above sea level, the Ngorongoro Crater is the highest unbroken crater in the world, surrounded by steep walls rising 610 meters above the crater floor. This natural amphitheater covers approximately 260 sq. km and is home to up to 30,000 animals, nearly half of them zebras and wildebeests. These vast numbers attract many predators, mainly lions and hyenas, but also cheetahs and leopards. Ngorongoro has been declared a World Heritage Site and is regarded as one of the “Eight Wonders of the World.” Descend the steep walls for a five-hour game drive on the crater floor. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and proceed to the mighty Serengeti National Park for an evening game drive.

Central Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full day of unlimited game viewing in the Serengeti. This park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. “Serengeti” means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, and within its boundaries are more than three million large mammals. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra begin their spectacular 600-mile pilgrimage, followed by predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals, while vultures circle overhead and some of Africa’s largest crocodiles lie in wait. The park is also home to over 500 bird species. All meals and your overnight stay will be at the camp.
