Day 1

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, you are greeted by a safari representative. Once introduced to you briefly, you will take a scenic drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and this should take around 5-6 hours depending on road and traffic conditions. The drive features an overview of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and rural Kenyan life. You will arrive at AA lodge in time for lunch. Following check-in, you'll proceed on your initial afternoon game drive in the Maasai Mara, renowned for its abundant fauna, with the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo). Dinner and overnight stay at AA lodge.

Full days in Maasai Mara

Full days in Maasai Mara

The two days are spent on Maasai Mara's vast grasslands. You'll enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives to make sure you witness the best of predator-prey action as well as the diverse ecosystem. Maasai Mara is renowned for the Great Migration, yet this varies from year to year, with river crossings typically between July and October. Even outside migration season, the reserve offers excellent wildlife chances. Optional excursions, such as a sunrise hot air balloon safari (at additional cost), can be reserved to provide a breathtaking bird's-eye perspective of the Mara. One night and all meals will be at AA lodge.

Day 4

Maasai mara to Lake Nakuru

Maasai mara to Lake Nakuru

After a final early morning game drive and breakfast at AA lodge Mara, you will depart from the Maasai Mara and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. This typically takes 4-5 hours. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in Nakuru with time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is famous for its large flocks of flamingos and is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. Other wildlife commonly seen includes Rothschild's giraffes, waterbucks, and various species of birds. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

After breakfast at Lake Nakuru Lodge, your day begins driving to Amboseli National Park. This is a long drive day, typically 6-7 hours, as you pass through different landscapes and drive south towards the Tanzanian border. You will arrive at AA Lodge in Amboseli in late afternoon. After checking in and settling, you might catch an early evening game drive, your first view of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting. Dinner and overnight stay will be at AA Lodge.

You spend the day in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli, with its drying swamp floors and surrealistic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, offers the chance of unique photographs. You have morning and afternoon game drives, focusing on the wetlands where the elephants tend to congregate, and other plains game like zebras, wildebeest, and a host of birds. The viewpoint provides a panorama of the park and its diverse habitats. All meals and overnight will be at Nyati Camp.
