Jambiani to Stone Town

Breakfast from hotel. Transfer to Stone Town for a guided walking tour of Stonetown. Follow the trail of the sultans, slaves and explorers in the winding streets of Stone Town. Your guide will tell you about the events that shaped Zanzibar, leading you through the buildings where it all happened, such as the former Slave Market and Anglican Cathedral, The House of Wonders and the Sultans’ Palace Museum, the Old Arab Fort and Dispensary. While tracing the steps of the past, the walking tour provides you with a window into modern life in Stone Town. Explore the markets, seafood and fish piled in the fish market, fresh loaves of bread in wicker baskets, seafood and the near stacks of fruit and vegetables as traders sell their wares from their stalls. The City Tour is very flexible and can be adapted to suit your interest and time frame. Stone Town to Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. Depart on scheduled flight to Serengeti NP, 08.00h – 11.00h. Meet & greet and start of game viewing drive. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world. “Serengeti” means “endless plains” in the Masai language, and within its boundaries are more than three million large mammals. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra begin their spectacular 600 mile pilgrimage – in their wake follow the predators – lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal – while vultures circle overhead and some of Africa’s biggest crocodile lie in wait. There is, of course, also a profusion of birdlife – over 500 species. All meals and overnight at Hippo Trails Camp. (Full Board Only).

Early start, tea and coffee will be served at the lodge, thereafter, proceed on a pre-dawn game viewing drive returning to your camp for a full breakfast. Continue on a game viewing drive, lunch at the camp. In the late afternoon proceed on a game viewing drive.

Central Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro

After breakfast you will depart with picnic lunch boxes to Ngorongoro Crater. Situated some 190 km, west of Arusha between Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks and covers an area of over 8,000 sq. km. The Ngorongoro Crater at 2,286 meters above sea level is the highest unbroken crater in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meters above the crater floor, this natural amphitheatre covers an area of about 260 sq. km and is home to unto 30,000 animals, almost half of them zebras and wildebeests. Such vast numbers attract predators a plenty, mainly lion and hyena but also cheetah and leopard. The Ngorongoro has been declared a World Heritage Site and is regarded as the eighth wonders of the world. Descend the steep walls into the UNESCO world heritage site of Ngorongoro Crater floor for (5 hours) game viewing drive. In the afternoon you will ascend the Crater Floor and proceed to Karatu. Dinner and Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge. (Full Board Only).
