Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up from your Arusha hotel or from Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport and driven approximately three hours to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a full-day game drive through the park, with a hot lunch served inside the park. Later in the evening, you will proceed to Fanaka Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large elephant herds—often numbering up to 300 individuals—digging through the dry riverbeds in search of underground water streams. The park also hosts vast populations of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland, all gathering around the remaining water sources during the dry season. This abundance of wildlife makes Tarangire one of the most densely populated ecosystems outside the Serengeti, offering exceptional opportunities for predator sightings.
