Morning Departure: The tour begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport. After a scenic 3-4 hour drive, you’ll arrive at Nanyuki, the gateway town to Mount Kenya National Park.

Check-in and Briefing: You’ll check in at your budget-friendly mountain lodge or camp (depending on the option you choose), where a warm welcome awaits. After settling in, your guide will provide a safety briefing, and you'll receive an overview of the trek ahead.

Afternoon Exploration: The rest of the afternoon can be spent exploring the lower slopes of the mountain or relaxing in the lodge with panoramic views of the surrounding foothills.

Dinner and Overnight: Enjoy a hearty dinner at the lodge, where you can enjoy traditional Kenyan meals. Spend the night at the lodge, which is designed for comfort while still offering an authentic mountain experience.

Day 2

Early Breakfast and Departure: After an early breakfast, your day of trekking begins. You’ll be driven to the Mount Kenya National Park entrance, where you’ll begin your hike to Met Station, a popular stop for trekkers heading to higher altitudes.

Lunch then hike to Met Station: The trek is moderate and takes approximately 5-6 hours. The trail winds through lush forest and bamboo zones, with occasional views of waterfalls and wildlife such as buffaloes, monkeys, and various bird species.

Arrival at Met Station: By the time you reach Met Station, you’ll be at an altitude of about 3,000 meters. Here, you'll rest in cozy mountain cabins or simple camps. Enjoy hot drinks and snacks, and take in the stunning views of the surrounding alpine landscapes.

Evening at Met Station: Spend your evening at leisure, enjoying the crisp mountain air and the beauty of your surroundings. Dinner will be served in the camp or lodge, offering you the chance to reflect on the day's hike.

Day 3

Met station to Lake Alice

Met station to Lake Alice

Morning Trek to Lake Alice: After breakfast, you’ll continue your trek to Lake Alice, a serene, high-altitude lake nestled in a glacial basin. The hike is approximately 3-4 hours, and you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of glaciers, rugged peaks, and pristine alpine environments. The area is a peaceful retreat where you can spot unique flora and fauna, including the famous African mountain frogs.

Picnic by the Lake: Once at the lake, take a break and enjoy a packed picnic lunch while immersing yourself in the tranquil mountain scenery. The still waters of the lake reflect the surrounding peaks, creating a perfect setting for photos.

Return to Met Station: In the afternoon, begin your descent back to Met Station. This hike typically takes 3-4 hours, and the views of the mountain from this lower vantage point are just as spectacular as from the higher reaches.

Day 4

Morning Breakfast and Final Descent: After an early breakfast, you'll begin your descent back to the park gate. This is a relatively easy, 2-3 hour walk through the scenic forest and grassland areas of Mount Kenya’s lower slopes.

Transfer to Nanyuki: Upon arrival at the park gate, your transport will be waiting to take you back to Nanyuki for a refreshing break and a final lunch.

Departure to Nairobi: After lunch, you’ll be driven back to Nairobi, completing your 4-day Mount Kenya adventure. You’ll arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon or evening, depending on traffic.
