Arusha - Ndutu

Today you will embark on a long and rewarding drive as you travel from Arusha through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Ndutu in the southern Serengeti. The road passes through the Maasai homeland, the only communities allowed to live within the Conservation Area. Traditionally nomadic, the Maasai are rich in culture and can often be seen herding their cattle in brightly colored traditional robes. Living in harmony with the land, they rely on long-held family knowledge of plants for survival.

Along the drive, you may spot giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Prepare to be amazed when you catch your first glimpse of the endless Serengeti plains. By the time you arrive at your accommodations, you will have already experienced your first game drive! You’ll enjoy another game drive until sunset.

Ndutu

After breakfast, you will venture deeper into Ndutu to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. From December to March, it is calving season, when wildebeest and zebras give birth. It is highly likely you will witness a live birth. This period also offers excellent opportunities to observe predator activity, as lions and leopards hunt the young and vulnerable calves.

After a picnic lunch, continue with a game drive until evening, then return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Ndutu - Arusha

Today you will wake up very early for a sunrise game drive, enjoying a quick cup of coffee or tea before setting out to spot animals at their most active and to witness a spectacular sunrise. The sunrise over the African savanna is one of the most beautiful experiences you can have. In the late afternoon, you will return to the camp, collect your belongings, and begin your journey out of the Conservation Area, heading back to Arusha City.
