Your journey begins with morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel. You will take a scenic drive to Kenya's Northern Frontier District, passing by Mount Kenya and the dry savannahs irrigated by the Ewaso Ng'iro River. On arrival at Samburu National Reserve, you will be checked into Samburu Sopa Lodge. In the evening, you will head out for an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Ng'iro River, a good spot for viewing elephant herds and a good prospect for the possibility of leopards. The lodge itself is situated on elevated ground with excellent views over the scrubland and distant hills. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 2

Spend a whole day exploring Samburu National Reserve's diverse ecosystems with morning and afternoon game drives. The early morning drive is usually the best time to catch predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they are at their peak around this time. You will still be on the lookout for the "Samburu Special Five" and other wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. The reserve's lifeline is the Ewaso Ng'iro River, and you will view large herds of bathing and drinking elephants. You will have the option to visit a Samburu local village to learn about their culture (optional, extra cost). All meals will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 3
Samburu to Meru National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will leave Samburu Sopa Lodge and proceed to a picturesque drive to Meru National Park. The drive offers a scenery shift as you move from the arid parts of Samburu to the verdant and diverse terrain of Meru. You will check in at Ikweta Safari Camp by the park's Murera Gate upon arrival. In the afternoon, following lunch, you will have a game drive in Meru National Park. Meru is renowned for its large herds of elephants, rhinos (black and white), lions, leopards, cheetahs, and great concentrations of birdlife. The park's diverse habitats like swamps, rivers, and woodlands support a dense flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at Ikweta Safari Camp.

Day 4
Full Day Meru Exploration
Full Day Meru Exploration
Today is dedicated to a full day of game drives in Meru National Park. You will have ample time to explore different sections of the park, including the Tana River, which attracts a lot of wildlife, and the rhino sanctuary. Meru offers a less touristy safari experience than some of the more popular parks and provides greater personal interaction with animals. You would be able to view where Joy and George Adamson resided, which is famous for their adventure with Elsa the lioness. Picnic lunch will be prepared in the bush to enable you to spend most of your time in the park. In the evening, return to the camp to rest and enjoy the quietness of the atmosphere. Dinner and overnight at Ikweta Safari Camp.

Day 5
Meru to Nairobi
Meru to Nairobi
Your final day begins with an early morning game drive in Meru National Park, providing your last chance to view wildlife as the park becomes active. Breakfast, then departure from Ikweta Safari Camp and onward travel to Nairobi. You will be driven over a range of different landscapes and have the views en route. You can arrange a lunch break along the way. You will be dropped at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening, the end of your safari adventure.
