Day 1

Start early from Moshi or Arusha and drive to Machame Gate (1,800 m). After registration, begin your 5–6 hour ascent through a dense rainforest teeming with life. The trail climbs steadily with occasional steep sections, offering glimpses of the Shira Ridge above. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route while your guide shares insights about the mountain’s flora and history. Reach about 2,800 m before turning back near Machame Camp, taking in the serene forest and misty atmosphere on your descent. Return to the gate and drive back to town by evening.
