Day 1

Leave Arusha at 6:00 AM for a scenic 2½-hour drive to Marangu Gate (1,860 m), passing coffee farms, banana plantations, and charming Chagga villages. After park registration, begin your guided hike through Kilimanjaro’s lush rainforest, a vibrant ecosystem filled with birds, blue monkeys, and towering camphor trees. The trail gradually ascends to Mandara Hut (2,700 m), where you’ll rest and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by misty forest. You may take a short walk to Maundi Crater for sweeping views toward Kenya. After descending, stop by a nearby Chagga cultural site or waterfall for a glimpse of local life before returning to Arusha by evening.
