Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha to Lemosho Gate for registration and briefing.
After meeting your mountain team, you’ll start hiking through the dense rainforest, surrounded by giant ferns, moss-covered trees, and lively bird calls. The trail is rich with wildlife Colobus monkeys often leap above the canopy.
You’ll ascend gently until reaching Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, where your tents and hot meal await under the starry forest canopy, setting the tone for your Kilimanjaro adventure.

Day 2
Mti Mkubwa to Shira Camp 2

After breakfast, you’ll continue through the lush forest before entering the heather and moorland zone.
The air becomes cooler, and the scenery opens to sweeping views of the Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s most stunning natural features. You’ll break for lunch along the way before continuing to Shira Camp 2, skipping Shira 1 to adjust to altitude efficiently.
In the afternoon, you can explore the plateau’s surreal landscape of volcanic rock and distant peaks before dinner and a restful night.

Day 3

Today is a key acclimatization day.
You’ll trek east toward the Lava Tower at 4,600m, where you’ll pause for lunch and adjust to the thinner air. The landscape turns barren and lunar-like, offering dramatic contrasts.
Afterward, you’ll descend into the lush Barranco Valley, filled with giant groundsels and everlasting flowers. The descent helps your body adapt while providing a glimpse of tomorrow’s famous Barranco Wall. You’ll enjoy a warm meal and breathtaking sunset at camp.

Day 4

This morning begins with an exhilarating climb up the Barranco Wall, an unforgettable adventure that requires balance and patience but rewards you with stunning views across the plains below.
The trail then meanders through ridges and valleys dotted with strange desert flora. You’ll arrive at Karanga Camp by midday for a hot lunch and optional short acclimatization hike. Relax as the evening chill settles, and enjoy views of Kibo’s glaciated peak glowing under the sunset.

Day 5

After breakfast, you’ll ascend gradually over rocky terrain toward Barafu Camp, the final staging point before your summit attempt.
The air is thin and crisp, and the views are vast, Mawenzi Peak rising in the distance. Your guides will brief you for the summit push as you have an early dinner and rest. This high-altitude camp is perched dramatically on a ridge, offering an inspiring sense of anticipation. Prepare your gear and mindset for the climb to Uhuru Peak.

Day 6
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

You have made it.
Summit day begins around midnight.
With headlamps lighting your way, you’ll climb slowly across frozen scree toward Stella Point (5,756m) before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
As the sun rises, you’ll stand above the clouds, an unforgettable reward for your effort. After photos and celebration, descend carefully to Mweka Camp, where a hot meal and deep rest await amid the forest.

Day 7

Your final morning on Kilimanjaro is a relaxed descent through the forest, filled with birdsong and occasional monkeys leaping through the canopy.
At Mweka Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your mountain crew. After a picnic lunch, you’ll drive back to Arusha, where a hot shower and comfortable bed await a perfect ending to your successful summit adventure. Drop off at your hotel in Arusha.
