Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport in Nairobi, you will be picked and start your journey to Tsavo west National park. Tsavo West National Park is situated approximately 4 to 4.5 hours' driving distance away, about 216 km. You'll stay overnight at Severin Safari Camp, strategically located between Mzima Springs and the Tsavo River. This eco-luxury safari camp boasts intimate tented suites complete with verandas, blending almost seamlessly into the surroundings. After lunch and relaxation, take your first afternoon game drive in Tsavo West. This park is renowned for its diverse landscapes, including Shetani Lava Flow, Mzima Springs, and Chyulu Hills, offering opportunities for sightings of big tuskers, lions, leopards, and rhinos. Full day Tsavo West National Park

Start the day with an early morning game drive, one of the best times of day to find animals when they are most active. Tsavo West's volcanic landscape, created by eruptions many years ago, provides a dramatic backdrop for game driving. You can explore areas with jagged lava flows and black basalt rocks, making the park look like an alien world. Return to the camp for breakfast and leisure. Later in the afternoon, embark on another game drive, this time to Mzima Springs. A natural marvel fed by underground streams from the Chyulu Hills, this verdant haven is a hotspot for hippos, crocodiles, and several bird species. Dinner and overnight at Severin Safari Camp.

Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

After an early morning breakfast and the final morning game drive in Tsavo West, you'll depart for Amboseli National Park. The drive from Tsavo West to Amboseli will be about 1.5 to 2 hours and a distance of about 87 km. When approaching Amboseli, the country changes to open grasslands, with the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro appearing often on the horizon. On arrival, check into Sopa lodge. Afternoon, go for a game drive in Amboseli, famous for large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and giraffes are present in the park as well. Dinner and overnight stay in Sopa lodge.

Spend the entire day exploring Amboseli National Park. Go on an early morning game drive that offers excellent photo opportunities because of the gentle light and action-packed wildlife. Visit Observation Hill to get a sweeping view of the park's diverse landscape, from lush marsh to dusty plains. The elephants of Amboseli are among the most studied in the world, thanks to conservation initiatives like the Amboseli Elephant Research Project. Return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch.
